the Congress held a hearing today about MONEY for FBI and CIA and the War on Terrorism... a 'progress report' on INTELLIGENCE

CIA Director Tenant: Iraq is fine, (but we need more money)....Afganistan is fine, (but we need more money)...AND the War in Columbia is going fine....but it's a 'little shakey', and to stabilize the situation, we need to have MORE nation-building like fix the roads, build schools and all that...(so we need more money)....


THE Admiral: We now have GLOBAL wars going on...(so we need more money)...we anticipate even more wars in the near future...we are beginning some other wars (but we only talk about that in the closed hearings, and cannot talk here in front of C-span)....all the WARS are going well...(we need more money)...we need to get the situation in Pakistan under control...



CIA Director: upon questioning.....we are doing real well with the language issues...we now have "130 language translators" people who understand the language spoken in the Middle East...most of these people have RECENTLY completed our foreign language course here at the CIA...so we're doing quite well....


a CIA : Of course, the drug situation in Iraq is totally out of control..and we need to work on that (we need more money)

we are watching the civil war develop...but we think everything is fine...

Senator Carl Levin (D-MI) is slamming all these guys...the WMD trailers....what about cheney's remark last week that those WMD trailers were PROOF of WMD....why is your 'older' assessment still on the CIA web site...

CIA : we don't think the trailers were WMD....I talked to cheney about his 'mis-statements'....cheney just mis-understood, that's all...this LIE is still up on THE FRONT PAGE of our web-site because we just keep adding things all the time, and THAT'S A GOOD THING.....

Levin is hitting on the 'Congressional Report' submitted by the pResident, with the same yellow cake LIE and other Uranium lies...and does this analyst take responsibility for that LIE too....

WOW....Kurdistan will be separate country !!! Bremer and the boys are working on it....Tenent says its still fluid, but a happening thing.....

Hagel is concerned about the DOUBLING OF OPIUM PRODUCTION since last year, in Afganistan....Tenent goes into the old 'but Karzai is doing so good...he's a wonderful guy..."he's the most popular guy in the country today'"....

Hagel is concerned about INTIMIDATION...Tenent: oh, it's just Taliban-remnant intimidation...we're watching it, but not worried at all...Afganistan is such a better place today...reconstruction is going on all over...


lots of questions about bush* LIES to go to WAR...Tenent generally evades answering anything...mostly stuff like...well, we did the best we could in a challenging environmnent and now, we can't spend anymore time on this, so it's best to move on to our more critical issues...(more wars?)

California Senator Feinstein: reading CIA list of sarin gas, mustard gas, nuclear weapons, etc. from last year...Tenant gets HOT....what we will do, we will write another National Intelligence effort to figure it out, but that will take away a lot of our current efforts for the War on Terror...but we can't write the report NOW, with this WAR on terror ongoing...we will write it...later....

Senator Feinstein: "It's a pretty bitter bit to swallow, especially for a pre-emptive war"

Tenant says he feels her pain...claiming that CIA agents made those reports about WMD are responsible people and they were concerned and they did the very best that they could...so what's the problem...you simply can't expect any higher service from our guys...

Democrat Dick Durban....we were WRONG on everything...the flowers for OUR troops, the WMD...the whole thing...we were WRONG, as David Key noted....it is a COMPLETE and massive failure...(there's mention of Tenant's Georgetown speech, which I note, is on the CIA site)...it's a POLITICAL LIE that led us to war...Durban is reading and quoting off majorly contradictory speeches and statements by Tenant....

Tenant: "I'm not going to look at my speeches, but rather just talk about our intelligence"....there are continuous 'leaks' about WMD in Iraq even today...

Durban: in hindsite...YOU MISSED THE MARK...the bulk of the arguments leading to WAR were JUST PLAIN WRONG...

Tenent: well, you are just plain wrong...look at Libya...we have now disarmed Libya because of what we did in Iraq....we had deep concerns about Iraq...we worked hard...we tell the truth....(Tenant is upset)...

Durban: in this open form of government...SOMEONE must be held responsible for this...


Democrat J. Rockefeller: "Are we safer today, than we were three years ago....

CIA/FBI...yes, yes, yes...

Rockfeller: reading a report on how much people support USA in Jordan and other Middle East countries (previously high...now down to about 1 to 6 percent, depending on country)...so isn't this a sign that more terror against us is forming?

CIA : (holy smokes!)...WE ARE the manifestion of these people's feelings...and WE are moving whole societies to OUR bidding...and WE moving these people as we desire...(raised his voice at the Senator)...and WE ARE ATTACKING THIS PHENOMENA....

Rockefeller: and for every contry you can claim progress on Democracy and changing their societies...I can name you 20 that are....(interuption from CIA).....

CIA...look, I'm not taking this....people don't see the world the way that I DO...AND WE ARE AT WAR ON THESE PEOPLE...all of them...all these countries...WE ARE CHANGING THEIR SOCIETIES, and WE WILL DO IT....

we have searched the whole of IRaq..and not found any weapons, or evidence that they were buried, or any evidence that they existed in the past 10 years....

CIA: they probably took them over boarders....it's great mystery to me why they didn't use the WMD on our troops...but it's going to take years and years to figure this out...we need time and patience...I wish I could answer your question, but I can't....
