I am so-o-o-o tired of hiding Nader threads...!

People, you're making a big deal out of nothing! I guarantee you, Nader's campaign will be a complete non-issue this year.

As one who voted for Nader in both 1996 and 2000 (and who regrets neither decision), I fully understand that there is way too much at stake this time around to use my vote to make a statement about our woefully inadequate two-party system. As such, come November 2nd, I fully intend to vote for the Democratic nominee, whoever it is. And there's no way I'm the only former Nader voter who feels this way!

Trust me, folks. A month from now, Nader will be getting even less press attention than Kucinich, and that's saying a lot! Now, what do you say we stop all this silly ranting and bickering, and join forces to get the Bush Junta out of Washington this year?

1. Ding ding ding !!!
We have a winner !!!

* Nader doesn't have a party

* Nader isn't on any ballots

* Nader doesn't have any endorsements

* Nader is essentially as marginal as the Communist Workers' Party,
The Natural Law Party, and the other fringe parties (nothing against them, I think they have every right to be here ... but they aren't getting reamed the way Nader is)

* Nader is a blip on the whore radar and when his un-campaign runs out of un-money, he will quietly disappear back into oblivion with not more than 10,000 votes nationwide in the general election.

Thank you for your post :hug: I was starting to think I was the only sane person left at DU.

:hippie:

Unfortunately, we have too many here, long-time members with high post counts, who have a fixation on nthe man and feel a need to start a new thread on him every five hours.

4. You hit the nail on the head
As a former Nader Voter I also will vote whoever the Dem nominee is although it will gag me while I do it. And I agree that Ralph's candidacy will not have the impact it is being credited with with but I also with pretty much everything that Ralph says except his announcement of his candidacy. And I unlike many others do not believe that this is an ego trip on Nader's part. He is angry and I think we all can relate to that. He sees no change in the Democratic party. It is still a corrupt and money first organization that puts the needs of the people behind party lines. I agree with him that the Democratic party is shit and needs a complete head to toe makeover.

I wish Nader would find it in himself to work from the inside to better the Democratic party. But I believe he just can't bring himself to work in conjunction with a group he so disrespects. I fear that all the good he has done, and the legacy he will leave behind, will be marginalized and all will focus on his role as a so called spoiler. I personally don't know how anyone who listens to Ralph, especially the type of people who are in the political know like those here on DU could possibly disagree with the things he says about our two party system. So again I state I will vote the Dem nominee whichever John that is. But will consider it just another right taken from us by the Bush Cartel. My right to vote for the candidate I feel would best stand for the interest of the people.
