our "rights"
For a country which constantly defends its actions by claiming that citizens have more rights than anywhere else is regurgitating a large amount of excrement. Yes we have rights but try to use them as in liberty of speech. Jane Fonda went to Hanoi and Clinton to Russia - and so what? Both were justified in going especially now that the hot shots of the time have said openly that war was not necessary and was a crime.
London has an area in Hyde Park where every sunday people take their orange boxes, stand on them and rant and rave about any subject they choose. They are heckled, laughed at or yelled at but that is part of the game.
Can anyone imagine a scene like in America without violence erupting in no time?
Freedom of speech my rear end

1. Yep, agreed. When people spout the crap about our soldiers fighting
for our freedoms, I tell them, "You mean the freedoms we once had?" We are not the freest country in the world any more. It's now probably somewhere in Europe.

2. I was in a bookstore
in the more conservative part of town. I picked up Michael Moore's book and read a few pages. I put it back on the shelf and started leafing through another one and the woman who was standing beside me reached up and turned Moore's book around so the back was facing out. repukes and their intimidation tactics make me want to puke!

3. But is shows the impact being made by all the liberal bestsellers -
if she felt the need to react like that, then at least a nerve was struck. To them, it's all about being right. They can't stand the threat of being on the wrong side of an argument. Just like most fundies I've ever known.
