Posts like... "Don't post that unless you want 4 more years"... "don't support this candidate or you'll be responsible for 4 more years" etc... the flame wars ongoing which are frankly distasteful... OK let me get out my handy dandy calculater...

Lets pretend for two seconds all 40,000 DU members are all going to vote.. none are dual members, under 18, unable to vote due to citizenship, etc.. or Repuke Trolls... to make ourselves more important.. we'll pretend we're all in once state so we could affect the outcome of that states electoral college votes..

DU represents less THAN .00004 of the electorate..

Let people vote for who they want.. don't brow beat em... No one here is going to affect anything... its just not that important... EVERYONE is entitled to their belief... and in fact... one persons belief is not inherently more correct than someone else's.. its all opinion...

Blast away.. ignore it or what not.. but it does seem people pretend DU and in fact all political message boards.. in some way matter.. that doing something here, affects the real world. IMO aside from being a welcome entertainment forum for political junkies such as me and a great place to organize, or goof with Internet polls, or post our favorite Paint shop Pro image... or to have one dimensional net friends.. or simply to complain to like minded empathetic ears.. DU means absolutely nothing in the real world..


On second thought... I guess I'm wrong... it was a fleeting epiphany.
