Dear DU: I have lived with an enemy of the state for 15 years....
My partner is a known terrorist, who has willingly harmed the United States by attempting to teach 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students a "foreign" language. He was PAID to do this. He has been engaging in this sordid activity for over 25 years. He is an admitted member of the radical subversive underground group, the NEA...

He indoctrinates his immature followers with information about un-American cultures and different ways of doing things. They prattle on in a language that many REAL Americans can't understand. He teaches concepts that can undermine American superiority, actually promoting other cultures to the unwitting children under his dominance.

I love him but I'm torn. Should I continue to condone his terrorist activity or do I have a responsibility to turn his worthless communist ass in? Help me decide...

1. Help you decide?
I think you should do *something* with his communist ass. Not sure what. ;-)

Congratulations on a loving long-term relationship! That's hard to pull off in modern-day America!!

5. I suggest you fill out this form...
Edited on Tue Feb-24-04 12:44 AM by AZCat
Head to this web site:

http://www.whitehouse.org/news/2002/072302.asp

and fill out the form there (you can download a pdf). It has not been updated yet to include the NEA, but presumably Attorney General Ashcroft is working on that.
Do it, and do your civic duty to protect this great country of ours!

Edit: Clarity

9. Seriously- I wonder how...
many of these the Justice Dept gets every year- and if they go to the trouble of checking them out. Better than busting head shops, I guess...

11. I still have my membership card.
I am retired, but I forgot to take the card out of my wallet.
I think I will keep it now to remind me of my subversive years as a teacher.

12. I really think we can use this gaffe to drive home a point
that the Bush* administration is totally out of touch with mainstream America. For Christ's sakes, they called the NEA terrorists! What alternative universe are we currently inhabiting?

13. No...It's a perfect example of
their hipocrasy (sp). While Bush is kicking off his campaign in front of Republican Governors while accusing us of hate and anger, his Secretary of Education demonstrates the nasty, hatefilled, bully tactics of the Republican meme.

15. Hell, my sister-in-law is principal at an elementary school madrassa
her husband, my baby brother, is also training young terrorists (5th grade level).

I'm surrounded by evil, just like you!

BTW, my parents, both, were strong supporters of public terrorism!

They show young minds how to be open. That's the LAST thing Herr Rove wants for Amerikkka.

19. That's why they want No Child Left Behind
When teachers are restricted to teaching only to the test, as will be the result to this horrendous act, they will no longer be able to open young minds.

He teaches, dare I say it out loud, science in Georgia.

We have been married 33 years but do I really want to go down with him?
