Does Nader have a secret stragegy to help Democrats?
Is it possible that Nader plans to drop out right before the elections and then endorse the Democractic nominee? I know there is bad blood between the Democrats and Nader, but perhaps Nader, on some level, does feel guilty for helping get Bush elected and sees the upcoming presidential election as his chance to redeem himself.

I guess the part of me that loves Nader is still having a hard time believing that he would shaft the Democrats and the American people yet again.

1. One thing he mentioned
was the willingness to bring up a lot of dirt on * that the Democrats might be too afraid to. If that comes out of his candidacy, it could really work in our favor. The dirt is dished, the * camp has to deal with it, and they can't attack Kerry to counter it either.

Geez Ralph I've voted for you twice (both times I knew Minnesota was very safe for the Dems), but not this year. No way. Too much at stake.

2. I think it is his ego that got him into this election

therefore his ego will not let him out.

If he wanted to help A. he has had the last 3 years to help and B. he could help without entering the race. Edit: you don't have to be a candidate to speak out.

He is up to no good IMHO.

3. Well, he's certainly helping with people like my mother.
Me Mum, a stauch Conservative, says that she will vote for Nader in the GE.

Not that she likes Nader.

But, as a protest vote against the "Tax and Spend,Spend,Spend" Bush Administration.

My father, might just follow her lead.

5. I listened to Nader on Democracy Now! this morning
He made it clear, when asked whether he would bow out just before the election, that he would not because he felt it would be betraying his campaign supporters, and that he does not feel the need to help other people get votes.:puke: :puke: :puke:

6. Nader hates the Democrats.
He scarcely mentions the Repukes except to say how he can find no difference between them and the Democrats. While this of course has the intended result of denigrating the Democrats, it also praises the Repukes by making them seem more moderate.

Nader is a piece of shit. There is no way around it. If there's anything going on behind the scenes it is Nader taking money from the Repukes. Make no mistake about it.

One effect he IS having I think is diverting attention from the important enemy, the one who holds our nation's government hostage.

I really think it's time to forget Nader and focus on the enemy. That would be George W. Bush.

8. I believe it's possible. Nader used to work with Kerry in the 80s
Edited on Mon Feb-23-04 02:07 PM by blm
on matters that establishment Dems wanted dropped, like BCCI and IranContra. Nader and his Public Citizen group helped Kerry with the digging that some in the Dem powerstructure wanted to ignore. In fact, if it wasn't for their combined efforts, the Reagan and Bush administrations would have gotten away with much more than they did.

Kerry has also advocated for public financing of campaigns to get ALL the money out of politics since 1985. Nader knows he'll push it through as president.

He also knows that Kerry's record on the environment is one of the best of ANY Democratic candidate in our lifetime.

That said...DON'T SWEAT IT, FOLKS. Even with Nader in the race, there is no way Kerry is going to lose.

NO FEAR.....Kerry is winning in November with at least 56% of the vote. NO DOUBT ABOUT IT.

9. I'm mad as hell
that Nader decided to run, but you may be on to something (or maybe you're just on something :))

"I'd go after Bush even more vigorously as we are in the next few months in ways that the Democrats can't possibly do because they're too cautious and too unimaginative, but they can pick up the vulnerabilities and the failures of the Bush administration that we point out," Nader said Monday on ABC's "Good Morning America."

snip

Democratic officials issued a statement Sunday saying Nader has promised McAuliffe he will not criticize the Democratic nominee, but rather focus his candidacy against the Bush administration.

Nader acknowledged the pledge but said it does not mean he will refrain from criticizing Democrats if they attack him. "I'm not going to avoid responding," he said.
