registered voters
Someone pls explain why the dems are concentrating on attack ads or other topics when all they should be doing is knocking on doors telling the dems to get out and vote! Registered dems far outnumber republicans. I and a friend or two (dont have many - rush limbaugh territory)have offered to take those without transportation and the elderly to the voting booths - weve had several positive responses. This is the only real way to beat that revolting reptile we have in the white house.

1. No way...it's much easier for me to sit at a computer
and complain about the democratic party and call candidates names. why would i want to actually do work?

2. They're going to have to do both. They have to keep the issue
in the publics short little memory, otherwise they might get confused and actually believe the republicans.

4. Reptile?
'that revolting reptile we have in the white house.'

Now, that's a little uncalled-for. What have lizards ever done to you? }(

However, I agree.

I tend to talk a lot, and then not do much, except vote.

I think that the trick is to get people like me off our a**e*, and out there working on getting people to the voting booths.

As to how to do that...

3. The last 48 hours
Nothing matters in politics except for the last 48 hours. Just look at Iowa - where Kerry realized he couldn't compete dollar-to-dollar with Dean. Instead he saved his resources and spent everything he had at the last minute. That made the difference.

GOTV - what you're talking about is very important - its certainly part of the equation, but it amounts to no more than 5% of turnout. You're never going to reach all the voters. The war needs to be waged on all fronts.
