I fear a LAME Duck Dubya...
That could be one of the worst things to ever happen to us. The lamest ever lame duck President. Sigh.

I wonder if a justice or two would resign so he could appoint new ones?

I wonder how all the Enron folks will enjoy their pardons?

I wonder how who knows where will enjoy getting bombed.

What fears have I missed?

7. Fear this:
bu$h is intended to be a one-termer. If he somehow gets a second term, it will just be icing on the icing, so to speak.

Has he not spent the last three years doing everything possible to get as much wealth as possible into as few hands as possible? (Actually, that question should be phrased in terms of his handlers doing everything possible, etc.)

Has he not lied this country into a war that will only enrich entities like Halliburton, KelloggBrownRoot, et al? (Of course, the subject of Peak Oil is involved here, too. Gotta get the machinery in place to control as much oil as possible; damn the cost and damn international law.)

Has he not sold as much of the government as possible (so far) to giant corporations?

Has he not taken a chainsaw to every social program in sight?

Any way you turn, this regime is all about making a few people obscenely rich and, by the way, fuck the planet!

His handlers have engineered all of this with the thought that bu$h will only get one term--so they must grab all the wealth they can, while the grabbing is good.

How else do you explain bu$h's actions?

:freak:

8. I've considered that possibility
From the get-go, they operated as if they feared nothing -- not even the will of the voters.

Such arrogance could be based on one of two things:

1. They know the election will favor Bush
2. They consider him a one-termer (as you say)

or.....

3. He's expendable (in the cruellest sense of the term).

By getting the toehold in the middle east and transferring wealth, they have pulled off the biggest heist in history. Maybe that IS all they wanted.

And now they can turn things over to another bonesman to finesse the secrets.

9. I've always thought that
That it's the biggest heist in history and that a second term is just icing on the cake. The biggest scam ever.

Yes, Daddy Bush did give away billions of the nation's resources for $10 grand.

I don't think, however, that just because Kerry is another bonesman that he will finesse the secrets. I tihnk the will might be there to investigate but whether the political power in the House and the Senate is there is anybody's guess.

10. I think they are going for all the marbles this time
A complete usurpation of the Constitution. The achievement of a single part system. The establishment of a hegemony ... the next 1000 year reign.

One way or another, they have to be stopped.

12. I think this way some what also.
I think he jumped right in because of how he got in and it looked like a one term thing. 911 set it in their mind, along with just being president, would mean a sure second win. A second term will put this country so far back in modern countries we will need another FDR for 12 years.

14. In some respects
I agree with you. Even if we do get a Dem in office, think of how damage has been done in such a short period of time. We went from TRILLIONS of dollars as a surplus to record-setting deficits.

Even though they keep citing the Sept. 11 attacks, it was the tax cuts that did the most damage.

If you look at the demographics and take into account the arguments put forth in The Emerging Democratic Majority, they realized if they didn't do this now, they never would be able to get away with it.

I think this was their original plan — a one-termer — but I think they are changing their minds based on the incredible "success" that they have achieved. They are seriously looking forward to a second term as their greed knows no bounds. After all, how can you truly be happy if others are not suffering and naturally, the more people who are suffering, the happier you will be.

13. Using bush as a one term pres...
has crossed my mind a few times.

While certainly, there has been a vast increase in the fortunes of those at the top of the economic ladder, there are far too many variables to think bush was set up as a one term pres.

If bush succeeds in getting a second term, (doubtful at this point), those in the money will do backflips. All the rest of us better start looking for the most sturdy refrigerator box to live in. There has never been a greater failure than the bush administration. He, of course, will deny this, and the greatest moment for me would be, to see him dragged out of the WH kicking and screaming, fingers grasping the facade and tears rolling down his face.

There is also a short period of time when an incoming president can overturn some of the edicts of the previous admin. I would hope the incoming pres would use that to advantage.

Imagine the evil he and Rove could wreak! I'd still be euphoric for getting rid of the Ceaser however.

16. I used to think along similar lines
until I realized that Bush won't lose in Nov. The Repbulican/neocon/religious right have fought too long and too hard to aquire total control over the government, they will not simply let it go because of some hokey "free" elections. They are on a mission from Yahweh and no crime is out of bounds because Yahweh wills it, don't ya' know. Suck it up guys, there will be blood in the streets for next Christmas.
