Nader: Will He Split the Kucinich Vote?
This could really hurt Dennis in the primaries, I fear.

1. Why?
Nader isn't running for the democratic nomination. So how would he take votes?

Do you think Kucinich supporters are going to decide. "Naw, forget voting within the party?" You aren't making a lot of sense here.

Kucinich supporters from go such as myself are people who felt Kucinich was the "real" grass roots candidate. Nader seems to think he can appeal to former Dean supporters. I have no idea if will be true but find it odd. Many were not willing to vote for the more liberal Kucinich because he wasn't "electable" but now they will vote for a provenly unelectable Nader?

2. More...
Further I would comment that I feel Kucinich supporters are much smarter than that. We aren't interested in shooting ourselves in the foot. We are bright enough folks to recognize that when Nader says(paraphrased) "I think Al Gore would have invaded Iraq too" that he either is a)not been paying attention and is clueless or b)has an agenda and is deliberately distorting the truth. Neither case makes us want to vote for Nader. Many of us were/are Gore supporters and recognize horseshit when we smell it.

We strongly believe in changing the party from within. Dennis is a Democrat all the way. And I predict we will 99.9% be voting ABB come November.

4. To expand on that even further.

I would like to point out something else about Mr. Nader's statment.

There is something very subtle and very dangerous there I think.

Why would he "think" Al Gore would invade Iraq?
Yes, they had a policy of regime change but we are talking post sept11 2001. Why would Gore do that?

To suggest that he would is to suggest that there was some reason, however misguided, to embark on that invasion post Sept 11, 2001.

In a sense it adds legitimacy to what Bush did and pretends that the folks in his administration hadn't been lusting to do this for years.

Surely Nader is smarter than that? Well , if so he must have some agenda that is causing him to lie about it.

3. don't see how....
if they want what Nader offers and want to stay within the dem party to get it...hell, theyve already got Dennis!

Actually this may just help him...may not help the others but not sure it will make a diff...depends if the dem party freaks out & gives Nader more energy than this whole thing deserves. Judging by the number of freaked out posters here on DU- they'll likely give Nader what he needs...validation that they see him as a threat.

Calm down & breathe deep people.

Peace
DR

5. I just couldn't bear the thought of DK only getting .5%
Instead of the full 1.5% he really deserves because of this jerk Nader.

9. Well at least it is better than the 0% someone like you could ever get
I mean after all , you are so stupid you don't know the difference between a primary and a general election!!
Now that is pretty stupid! And would likely not draw many votes.

6. The kind of loyalty that Dennis inspires
is not easily transferable, especially not to another primary candidate.
