2. Yup.
Michael Moore realized this in the waning days of the 2000 campaign, and writes about it in "Stupid White Men." Repubs were PAYING Nader to spread shit about the Dems and vacuum liberal votes.

I voted for him in 2000. Big fucking mistake.

5. plain white envelope --
--- 'bout 2 inches thick full of 100-dollar bills.---

Ralph: What is this?

Karl: C'mon, we need you man. One more time.

Ralph: I don't know ... Greens don't want me ... I'm not sure.

Karl: Listen. We can do this the easy way, or the hard way. It's your choice.

Ralph: Give me the f*ckin' envelope.

3. Put it past them? It would be the smart thing to do.
Edited on Sun Feb-22-04 11:20 PM by Blue_Chill
Nader has no credibility in the eyes of anything that resembles a majority. Having him sap away the more idealistic and less reasonable votes from the democratic party is a great way to ensure victory for your canidate. Hell I wish we would have thought of it first. Instead of "draft clark" we should've had "draft Falwell" and thus taken the religious right away from Bush.

8. Don't be ridiculous -- your rumors are silly. Nader's a vocal opponent of
Bush and vehmently opposed the Iraq invasion, unlike Kerry and Edwards. I will not be voting for Nader -- I wanted Dean but will choose the Dem candidate. For more see my long reply post under "Why I think Nader is running" (I'm number 18). And then respond with some intelligence if you wish.

10. So what?
The right nows Nader doesn't matter to them, he can't hurt them at all. So what if he opposes anything, in the long run he is a as dangerous to them as a beanie baby.

18. Al Sharpton is another vocal opponent of Bush, yet the GOP
organizes and funds his campaign. The rhetoric is irrelevent - the goal is to do as much harm to the Democratic ticket as possible.

If Nader is such an opponent of Bush, why is he helping in his "re-election" campaign?

I truly doubt that is the case, though I would not rule it out.

13. Buchanan is not ..
... running in 2004 ... rumour has it he ran (a weak showing at that) in 2000 to pay off his gambling and illegal drug debts.

Buchanan hijacked the Reform party from Perot much the same way Bush neo-cons hijacked the Republican party.

14. look...
....we now know that the GOPers were paying Sharpton. Go check the Village Voice's expose of that whole scummy mess. They gave him the use of phone banks and other resources, and paid travel expenses, etc. The agent of Bush working with Sharpton is the creep who organized the mob riot in Florida in the recount period.

You think if they'll pay Sharpton they won't pay Nader? Pffft.

16. Corrupt or not, it's still MONEY...
Ralph has to pay the bills somehow. The GOP bought him TV ime in key states last time.
He's a whore who would take John Kerry's money too, if they offered him any.

17. Al Sharpton is run by the GOP - so why not?
Al Sharpton's campaign is run and funded by Roger Stone, a GOP political hack. I don't think Nader's taking paychecks from Karl Rove (he's not that stupid), but campaign funding? I'd honestly be surprised if he weren't.

19. i can't believe
that no one has mentioned that nader has met regularly in grover norquist's "wednesday group" of prominent insider rethugs, or that in 2000 NM greens got a "white envelope" from a bigtime rethug fundraiser...which they turned down.

nader is not a green, but he is a plant. anyone who thinks he represents progressives is a fool, and not paying attention to what nader actually does.

21. You're right - From 2002
http://www.abcnews.go.com/sections/politics/DailyNews/Nader_020612.html

Read down and you'll see Norquist offered Nader $100,000. Not bad, not bad. I can't say I'm surprised one bit and we'll see this kind of thing magnified to the nth degree.

I'm not sure it was financial, but somebody found Ralph's price.

I wonder what it took to get him to drop to his knees and whore himself for the Bush Cabal?
