Kin of Millie passes at 15.

Hell, everyone gets sad when a dog dies. :-(

Bush family dog dies
From correspondents in Washington
February 22, 2004

ONE of the first dogs, Spot, had died, after nearly 15 years with the family of US President George W. Bush, the White House announced today.

"The president and Mrs Bush and the entire Bush family are deeply saddened by the passing of Spot," the White House press secretary said.

9. isn't right?
Yes it is. I dreamed of a huge plague that was genetically designed only to kill white men over 50 who have patriarchal genetics... and
how profoundly relieved the world was when the plague wiped them all
out... it was a very happy dream... justice was done, and the world
a safer place for it... then i woke up... :-(

29. sorry wise man
I would not call you a patriarch... as the gene is clearly balanced based on your posts.

Its too bad i can't simply come out and wish the lot of those evil GOP bastards dead. I was not implying a sane, healthy person should die, but the metaphor has limits.

peace jellybean... :-)

13. Wow :-(
This is why I try not to post too much.

This is a post about a dog dying.

I'd be so sad if one of my dogs died, but you post this bitterness.

Speaking as someone from a relatively conservative state, I think this is why I see so much resistance to liberalism here. The appearance of mindless bitterness.

No new ideas, no idealism, no compassion, just bitterness. Sad. I thought people were better than that.

21. No offense but...
my utter lack of concern for the death of this dog has nothing to do with "liberalism" and the fact that you would try to link the two is somewhat strange. This is just pure, simple, good ol' dislike for someone that is causing real widespread damage around the world. If that tempers any sympathy for his dog, tough shit.

30. You obviously didn't read the post (deleted)
The post I read above, and replied to, was obnoxiously bitter.

And, like it or not, this board is *THE* leading internet voice of liberalism in this election season. Period. Everyone who wants to know where the Democratic party (at least "the democratic wing of the democratic party") is headed, is here, reading.

What kind of picture do we want to present?
Do you not think that Non-Dems are here reading what we say??

Thats why I said what I said. Obviously someone agreed with me, as the post I replied to was deleted.

It has nothing to do with what anyone thinks of Bush, just the image we show to the world. Have some compassion. That's all :-)

10. I just posted this:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=104&topic_id=1145454

"NBC News wants us to mourn with the pResident over the loss of the family dog, Spot. I'm know that losing a beloved pet is an awful and painful experience.

But when did the Bushies ever express any real grief over the loss of 547 Americans in Iraq, or the loss of thousands of limbs, eyes, etc. by those that they selfishly sent to die? When have they ever acknowledged the tens of thousands of Iraqis who have died for their stupid war?

I can't feel pain for the Bushes when they are so insensitive to the pain felt by thousands over this senseless war."

14. Please...
the other dog looks afraid of him, the pets are photo props.
Its nice to transfer emotions to the Chimp but watch him with the dogs, its all for the camera.

I think I'll feel sad tonight for some old person dying alone with inadequate health care rather than the Bush* clan. I'm sure no one bothered to go to the vet with the dog---even if they claim they did for the "press."

Bush Dog Put to Sleep Due to Health Woes

WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Bush's dog Spot, the 15-year-old English springer spaniel who had remained eager to please despite increasing health troubles, died on Saturday.

Bush and his wife, Laura, went along with a veterinarian's recommendation to put Spotty, as the longtime Bush family pet was known, to sleep, according to White House spokesman Allen Abney. She had suffered a series of strokes recently, including one this week, he said.

"The president and Mrs. Bush and the entire Bush family are deeply saddened by the passing of Spot," White House press secretary Scott McClellan said Saturday in a statement. "A loyal and loving companion, Spot was a beloved member of the Bush family for nearly 15 years. She will be missed."

Spot was no stranger to the White House. She was born there to Millie, the well-known dog of Bush's parents, former President George H.W. Bush and his wife, Barbara, in 1989.

23. So, she finally figured out who her owners were....
and had a stroke.

Or they are covering up her suicide.

Or perhaps she found out information she wasn't supposed to know, and they killed her because the Bushes don't even take chances with dogs.

The BFEE lies about everything, so how is this any different. Whatever the real reason, at least Spot is at peace. We are the ones that are still suffering and will be mourning our country if we don't take it back from these bastards.

15. This is kinda funny...
...but my sister has a wonderful Brittany Spaniel with your username. The dog is nine and at the time they acquired him, my nephew had a big thing for the "Doogie Howser" TV program. As I said, this is a wonderful dog. Tore a ligament in his leg about six weeks ago and is recovering from surgery. An extremely strong, kind and gentle animal. We love him.

18. No compassion here!
The dog is gone-- no need to feel bad, he's out of his misery.

As for the Bush family--I cannot dredge up a singe molecule of compassion for them in their sorrow.

20. As much as I do NOT like the Bush family, I feel sad that Spot
has passed on.. But then that is a ripe old age for a dog.. We lost our labs at 13 and 11.. So Spot did have a good and pampered life.. That's the best that any dog could hope for..RIP Spot..

22. BFD... probably comitted suicide
I know I would if I belonged to them. There are so many important items in the news, I believe this is another grasp for public sympathy. Does anyone really think Laura, the twins and aWol* actually have the capability to grieve?!? For an animal no less? Shithead* used to love to torture animals as a wee lad. Chimpy* probably dropped Spot daily too.
