Right wingers circulating altered photo of Kerry and Jane Fonda
Sorry, if I missed an earlier post, but I came across this:
http://media.guardian.co.uk/presspublishing/story/0,7495,1150031,00.html

The story refers to a photo that allegedly showed John Kerry standing right next to Jane Fonda at the podium at an anti-war rally. The photo was actually doctored by a right wing operative, who then proceeded to post it on right wing (naturally) websites. Then, the right wing conspiracy went into effect (naturally) and offered the photo to various members of the print and television media. (naturally) some of the idiots in the print and television media chose to aid the right wing cause, and run the photo. Now we find out that the photo was doctored. Luckily, the photographer of one of the two original photos recognized his altered photo, and alerted the news media to the right wingers actions. I wonder if all of those who showed the doctored photo have apologised yet?
Here's another link to the story. http://www.newsday.com/news/nationworld/nation/ny-kerry0215,0,5753628.story?coll=ny-top-headlines
This link tells of a woman who "got the photo off of a right wing website" and then sent it to a veterans group. Supposedly, a journalist contacted the woman via telephone to ask her to explain herself. She stated that she had no idea that the photo was doctored.
I for one, would like to see the few remaining journalists on this planet pursue this story to it's conclusion. That photo can be traced backwards. A true journalist can find out who was the very first person to post that photo on the internet. That poster can then be investigated to see if they are the actual perpetrator. It could be very interesting to find out where that doctored photo originated.

2. Old news. It's photoshopped. The photoshopper is being sued.
The person who owns the rights to the photo is so ticked off hes suing for infringement.

The photographer who took the original Kerry photo is said to be planning a lawsuit.

I went to a Cleland speech just before thw WI primary & accosted the perpetrator of a local vets mailing list about his having put this on his website. He got all defensive on me and tried to change the topic. Heh. Heh.
