If they lied about a war, what else have they lied about?

You know what they said about the last legally elected president, Bill Clinton. If he lied once, even once, you can't trust a word that comes out of his mouth. He was labeled the king of all liars.
He was impeached over a lie. One small lie. IMPEACHED. That, is the new republican standard. Oh Lordy, how they hate a liar.

And now, it's been revealed that the whole Iraq invasion and slaughter was based on not one, but hundreds of lies. And most Americans accepted them as truth. I suspect many of them knew inside that they were being lied to, but chose to bite down and support the 'office' of the president. "We're at war, after all, give the man a break".

So, using the republican standard for presidential lying, our boy bush has been caught in at least one lie right? That makes him even with the last president, WHO WAS IMPEACHED over exactly one lie.
In fact, little bush has been caught in numerous lies. Literally hundreds, they can all be looked up. And he shows no signs of letting up on his lying and obfuscations.

So how many lies do you believe? Why do we accept lies from the White House, but not our peers? Why do we instantly accept the story that crazy Arabs fell the towers? Why do we digest the official bushco story about 9-11? We need to look through all official White House stories, and instead of accepting them for what they appear to be, prove it to ourselves, once and for all. We need to investigate it, the burden of proof is on us.

We happily ingest lies everyday. Saddam was pulled up out of a hole.
Can you show me the photo? bush didn't remember who Ken Lay was. Really? bush did his duties in the TANG in the early 70's. Oh yeah?
Osama Bin Laden attacked us from a cave. The hell you say! All the hijackers photos on t.v. on sept. 12th, 01. Wow, how'd they do that?
Atta's wallet found on the street, in plain view. Amazing, why didn't it burn up? No black boxes survived on any of the three planes. Will wonders never cease? A third, smaller World Trade Center building suddenly falls straight down, exactly like the first two. Remember that? Why was that never explained?

laura bush accidentaly killed her boyfriend in a tragic car mishap.
(That's funny, I heard she saw him across the street in his car stopped at a light and she floored the pedal and rammed him and killed him with great malice and forethought, but that's just an ugly rumor, and who would believe it anyway, some kinda crackpot?)

bush is a good Christian man. Does anybody really believe that? Oh, millions? Anyway, he goes to church fairly regularly.

If they lied to us about the wars, why would it be so difficult to accept that they are also lying to us about EVERYTHING ELSE. Including 9-11, the economy, Saddam, Bin Laden, taxes, compassion, prescription drugs, health care, education, the environment, mass murders, anthrax, illegal invasions, etc. Once a president is caught
lying, even once, even a little silly lie, you know the deal.
It's the rules. Rule of law. We can't have a lying president.
Cause once he's lied to us, we must assume that he's lied to us about everything, and will continue to do so.

........end of rant...........

22. Took the words right out of my mouth: what haven't they lied about and
conversely, have they done even one thing for the common good, have they done one thing because it was in the best interest of this nation rather than rewarding patrons or otherwise implementing their ideology including PNAC? I can't think of one.

4. One Way to Tell if bush is Lying.
If he opens his mouth, he's lying!

By the way, for those of you who remember the last great rethuglican liar, tricky dickie, remember how some of his cabinet (Hickle, Richardson and some others) would resign or be fired over principal rather than perpetuate the lies.

Can ANYBODY think of ANYONE in the halliburton administration (except possibly O'Neil) who has done the same? Even that "stalwart of honor and integrity" colon powell? Looks like he took an "American Journey" to the dark side!

10. Christie Whitman...
while she would not say she was leaving because of the absurd policies of the admin; I think it is obvious that she was disturbed at the tack the admin has taken.

Ari Fleisher? Maybe....but perhaps he figured he'd burst into flames if he spilled one more bush lie onto the floor.

I forgot about her. Notice that she doesn't seem to be campaigning for him. At least we don't see any news of that up here in Maine.

She also has earned man coulter's wrath. Sometimes you can judge a person as much by who hates them as by who loves them.

she worked for years to help keep acid rain down, but got peeved when her ideology was shot to pieces.

Whitman may be a repug, but she seems to have a conscience, not all pug's are horrible. This admin just makes it look like all repug's are horrendous. Sad, the good go down w/the bad, just look at Colin Powell, from esteemed General, to corporate shill in next to no time.
I had great respect for Powell before, now I think he sold his soul to keep his job.

and calmly leaving the room would have 'scared' anyone.

indeed, this 9/11 lie is up there with Condi's 'we couldn't IMAGINE using planes as weapons'

a LIE that should have had her immediately removed from office.

32. I found it astounding that he didn't get up...
and move at that point. Just goes to show you how far from reality this guy is.

The kids would have understood, kids are very forgiving; but adults watching that fiasco are not so forgiving, we remember.

One other thing, and this is just me; the last place I would have gone to on 9-11 was NE. I would have gone to either NYC or DC, no alternatives for me. The notion that the "terrorists", might know the AF One codes was ridiculous at best, and it just showed bush as a coward and uninformed. I was as ashamed of bush that day, as I was stunned and shocked by what had happened.

18. They only tell the truth about things they shouldn't do
Example: Charles Pickering. IIRC Bush swore he was going to put Charles Pickering on the federal bench, Democrats be damned. The Democrats, and probably a few Republicans--the guy does have a rather unusual wardrobe for a public servant, after all--decided this wasn't going to happen. So dumbass recess-appoints him to the bench.

Fortunately, when Bush leaves next January, so will Pickering.

On anything else, Bush lies like a cheap rug.

21. well, all that WOULD be true

if bush hadn't re-defined the meaning of "lie" by executive order.

technically, an 'untruth spoken (or written) by a Bush administration official' is now too be referred to as 'happy talk'

also, under this order, any person (or organization) that refers to an 'untruth spoken (or written) by a Bush administration official' as a lie, deceit, fraud, or no-no, is subject to prosecution for terrorism under the USA Patriot Act and persecution from God for blasphemy against this chosen representatives.

p.s. i LOVE that Pez bush* (always have!)

woke many people to the possibility that this administration might be dishonest to the core. The public reception at our weekly rallies has been much warmer, even among seeming conservatives who walk along the KC Plaza. Despite the mainstream media's blackout, many people have suspicions and are VERY interested in the 9-11 inconsistancies and cover-up issue.

mopaul, hope you can make it tomorrow to see to the 9-11 widow Mariani (and her attorney) who is suing Bush, et al. We are expecting a packed house. I will be videotaping events tonight and tomorrow, so stay tuned.

In case you are curious, here is a little movie about the KC group which I recently put together:
http://homepage.mac.com/snapshots1/iMovieTheater1.html

----------------------------

Mariani will spend the entire day of Sunday, February 22
in Kansas City.

Featured Events:
- 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM - Unity Temple on the Plaza at
707 W. 47th Street. Accompanying her will be her
attorney, Philip Berg, former Deputy Attorney General
of Pennsylvania.
- 4:00 PM she will be at the KC Iraq Task Force Vigil at the the
Plaza Fountains at 47th Street and Main.

33. welcome and lying
First I do welcome back Mopaul from his self imposed exile, this place is better for your return.

But lying is certainly not unique to this administration now is it folks? It seems an imbedded characteristic of politicians everywhere and stems, in my humble opinion, from a thought process ,all too common here as well, of bending ones principles ,lowering ones standards and voting for someone you know is full of excrement but less so than the other guy. any way you dissect it we are still left with a politician who is full of crap!

It is long past time that a message is sent to all politicans everywhere, and the best way to do that is to refuse to accept their votes and their stances on issues you personally find offensive! I will not cast my ballot for any politician who supported the Patriot Act, who voted for the WTO, or who is responsible for the deaths of ten thousand Iraqis and five hundred americans by supporting Bush's request for war.

Sorry for the hijack Mo.....
