"I can't afford to be a Republican..."
so said the Sprint techie I was on the phone with this morning. He was checking to see if DU was okay because I couldn't get on from my PC, and when he got on the site, he said, "Wow, I see a great article there." I said, "Well, DU is a great place if you're not a Republican." He said, "I can't afford to be a Republican." Isn't that a great way to put it?

If you want to live like a republican, vote Democrat.

5. Who can in this Economy?
You almost have to be a millionaire to be a Republican. Or seriously demented.

7. Unless you are in the top 1% you really can't afford to be.
It's so true. And it's sad to know first hand poor Republicans (my father) that don't get it. He's retired military and has seen his veteran benefits cut. He foolishly tries to play the stock market, but he's been burned. Okay, that's not the party's fault, but he supports their repeal of capital gains, even though he has none. He's not even in a favorable tax bracket. And yet he dreams and votes accordingly.

As Dr. Phil would say, "And how's that working for you?"

For full disclosure, I should mention that he's a Southern Baptist. So what's that attraction of Christian martyrs to greedy bastards?

Anyway, nice to know that Sprint hires real problem solvers.
