2. Gee, funny how I don't see it on their website.
But I do see a big ad for someone who built a $3.8 million business, without spending a penny to start, and can show me how!!!

Goebbels would be amazed.

5. LOL
Got it from Josh Marshall's site, and he says the same. :D

Wow. The Fox News poll has the president down at 48% approval. For some reason I cannot begin to fathom, the statistic doesn't seem prominently on display on the FoxNews website. (I can't even find it.) But you can see the brutal numerical truth here.

3. When it gets below 40,
take cover, especially if you happen to live in an area with a concentration of Democrats and Liberals.

9. But since all polls are "crap" (DU: 2001-2003). . .
this doesn't truly mean anything, does it? Or, let's take the tinfoil approach, and surmise they've artificially lowered his ratings in preparation for the day the ratings shoot through to the upper 80s again, "proving beyond proof that our Illustrious Bushuer is beloved by his people" (/sarcasm).

There's only one poll that matters and we're all going to participate in it in 256 days. Any credence we give to any poll before then -- especially a useless Faux poll -- could turn against us by inspiring complacency or dulling the edge of our anger. Ignore them all. Keep your "eye on the prize" and work, work, work to rid ourselves and our nation of the ShrubCo blight. We owe it to ourselves and the memory of the dream that used to be, and may yet again be, America.

10. No matter what any poll says, act like we are 10 points down
We need to scrap and fight all the way to November. BushCo has huge advantages in propaganda outlets, money, and incumbency. Plus, they have no regard for the truth.

This is going to be a war and they will throw everything they can at us. We need to always keep fighting like we need to make up ground.

17. I agree. Let's work like we are 15 points down. With rPigs in total
control of the broadcast media and Rove with a couple hundred million$, we will no doubt see those poll numbers drop.

15. Circling The Wagon
Remember, this is the network that manufactures "news"...most of it exclusively for its own viewers. It's great to see his assholiness losing in his own brothel, but these slime merchants always have a method to their madness.

I think there's a serious concern in RoveCo. to avoid all the mistakes that were made in '92, when the Bushbots then took re-election for granted for a good portion of the campaign (especially at this point) and let the "base get soft". Remember, these people don't think that Clinton beat them in '92 as much as their "faithful" let them down. Might be a kernel of truth (the first in GOOPland) to that.

The tone is a growing sense of "they're gonna win" that's starting to come out of the GOOP spinners...and I think it's purposeful. Witness what happened with other front runners, it's easier to keep your troops inline when your coming from behind that attempting to keep ahead.

Also, Rove knows his hive considers itself the "minority"...the oppressed...be it the "Christians who can't pray in their schools" to "Them Democrats are gonna flood the country with immigrants" and "raise my taxes" and take my guns and force my children to marry a transvestite and have homosexual sex before marriage probably with birth control and then will have to get an abortion...spin spin spin spin spin...and it was ALL Clinton's fault! This ain't the New York Yankees he's managing here, it's Murders, Inc.!

I'm with those that say the only poll their care about is the one in November, but I find these beauty contests and "snapshots" always interesting...as to who uses them and how. Democrats are smart to shy away from those huge numbers on our side right now since we know how quick they rose and how they need to be firmed up.

Now if we see *'s numbers sticking in the mid or even low 40s...and it staying there for weeks on end, then there's something to feel very, very hopeful about. Meanwhile, I see the Faux numbers as the results of just another one of their push polls.

20. Can someone explain this math. . .
From the article Catwoman links above:

Since early January, Bush's approval among men is down 13 points, eight points among women, 14 points among Democrats and down 13 points among independents. Approval among Republicans holds steady at 86 percent.

How can your approval rating drop 13 points among men and eight among women, yet hold steady among "Republicans"?

Maybe there's something more to that "they're all lyin' sacks o' shit" description than simple commentary on their ethics. Hmmm. . .

21. You got me excited for a minute there - I was thinking the numbers
just didn't add up. But those numbers are not impossible. If the approval numbers for men and women who are NOT republicans dropped a great deal more than the reported 13 and 8 points for all men and all women, you could get the result they report. It seems damn unlikely, but not impossible.

I guess we can take heart it may indicate a hardening of Democratic lines around our candidates.
