Novak is an asshole asking how would you make a decision for the country if you can't make a decision to run Clark responded that to make the right decision you don't make that decision until it's time and it's not time yet.

it just doesn't look like he is going to run.

In addition, it would be exceedingly difficult for the republicans to do what they do best, which is run their smear campaign on him. Whats more, if they did, Clark would know what to do to put a stop to it.

I don't think he'd be making all of these media appearances unless he was seeing what kind of attention he can generate. I also think that the money people are starting to give him a serious look after all of these appearances. An article posted earlier this week said that many of them are still uncommitted. The majority of voters are uncommitted. Bush is limp. There is no reason on earth that he shouldn't run.

What a shameless tease. All you have to do is put Clark on the stage and let him speak and smile that gorgeous smile of his and bush is so toast.

Don't get me wrong. I didn't begin my support of Clark because he's handsome. I began supporting him because he's smart, experienced in national security issues, progressive on social issues and very articulate. But the fact that he's so damned cute and charming doesn't hurt either.

Yeh, that letter was very obnoxious load of GOP bull. Great catch and great comments by James to drive home the point. Not many people have talked on national TV about the Aug. 6 briefing because people would be reeeeeeally ticked if they were to learn Bush KNEW TERRORISTS WERE GOING TO HIJACK AIRPLANES AND DIDN'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT.

Sorry. I wasn't shouting at you. I just get emotional about it. Remember the traitorious swine John Ashcroft got warned NOT TO FLY COMMERCIAL back in July 2001:

Ashcroft Flying High

WASHINGTON, July 26, 2001

Fishing rod in hand, Attorney General John Ashcroft left on a weekend trip to Missouri Thursday afternoon aboard a chartered government jet, reports CBS News Correspondent Jim Stewart.

In response to inquiries from CBS News over why Ashcroft was traveling exclusively by leased jet aircraft instead of commercial airlines, the Justice Department cited what it called a "threat assessment" by the FBI, and said Ashcroft has been advised to travel only by private jet for the remainder of his term.

"There was a threat assessment and there are guidelines. He is acting under the guidelines," an FBI spokesman said. Neither the FBI nor the Justice Department, however, would identify what the threat was, when it was detected or who made it.

SNIP...

"I don't do threat assessments myself and I rely on those whose responsibility it is in the law enforcement community, particularly the FBI. And I try to stay within the guidelines that they've suggested I should stay within for those purposes," Ashcroft said.

and land on a carrier. Yes.....now that is a picture an artist would want to paint!!!!!!

He will mop the floor with Bush. Can't wait until their debate(as if B*sh would ever agree to one)>>>>>

57. If Clark got the Dem nomination.. It would be so over for shrub...
there would be no need for a debate.

Another thing I like about Clark. He's sneaky. He gets those zingers in there everytime. Like when Novakula asked him about lacking leadership ability since he can't "make up his mind" whether he will run. Smiling, Clark said, 'the time to make a decision is when a decision is needed. A decision isn't needed right now.'
Go Clark! :bounce:

63. I do love Clark's optimistic demeanor.
It's one of the things I really like about John Edwards - as well as his smarts, compassion, ideas - not to mention easy on the eye.

Those two would make a killer ticket.

69. Not sneaky! ;o)
How about thoughtful or observant. THe Esquire article showed him as a player who carefully observes and calculates the opponent's weaknesses. He's very very smart and will use his knowlegde and technique to his advantage. Shrub will look even more of a fool.

He's sizing things up, gathering information and planning the best course of action. When he acts, it will be a clear, and well thought out approach.

Clark's the one who can do this. :loveya:

77. What do you expect?
The guy's a former general, you don't get there without being smart! Houston, he have found the dragonslayer, repeat we have found the dragonslayer!

I think he's waiting until the right moment so that he can spring a nasty surprise on Bush at the right moment. He just has to get started in December, that will keep the pukes from getting their smear going and give him enough time to win the primary. Or maybe he's setting things up so he will be drafted, make it look more noble that he's not CHOOSING to run, but if my party says I must...

73. Anti-gay and Pro-life?? Democrat??
I'm confused. Clark made a statement that he is pro-life? Is this the platform he will be running on?

He also severly tip-toed around the question of gays in the military. As the "commander in chief" he would have the top say of the Armed Forces.

Clark seems to be a good guy but doesn't know enough about too many issues to be a resonable canidate. His best chance is a VP at best.

Can anyone clear up the conservative remarks he made? I'm not sure he is a Democrat at all, maybe an oppurtunist.

75. What an incredible superficial lot we have
posting on this thread:

* He's the perfect male speciman.
* Even my Mom thinks he's a mad hottie
* I tape his interviews. Not so that I can watch them and drool.
* swoon
* put him in a flight suit and land on a carrier. Yes.....now that is * a picture an artist would want to paint!!!!!!
* Boy does he look handsome...

Yep, that's what we all need to do. Decide on candidate because of his looks.

Who cares if he doesn't know shit about the important issues? Just saying, "I don't know" should solve it! Why in the world do we need concentrate on anything else?

Screw that he has never governed before!
Screw that he knows nothing about the economy!
Screw that he knows nothing about education!
Screw that he knows nothing about the environment!
Screw that he knows nothing about jobs outside of the military!

Hell, he's gorgeous, let's vote for him!

:eyes:

79. Ahh Horseshit Pastiche!
In the crossfire interview he didn't shy away from making his positions clear!

On Taxes- Start at the TOP and work our way down
On Iraq- "Biggest Blunder Since The Cold War"
Pro-Choice
I didn't see his answer in this interview but in the past he has said that he would favor acknowledging gays in the military.

Sounds like a pretty good guy to me!

81. How many "I don't knows" did he say?
How many times did he say he was a Democrat?
How many times did he say he was running?

A good interview? How low is your bar set?

80. Brad Pitt for Prez!!!!
;-)

Really Ge. Clark is similair to Edwards imo. They both are very attractive older men who are smooth talkers, but severly lacking in substance and experience.

Good leaders, but not presidential material.

83. all his credentials are givens
He was a Rhodes scholar in politics, economics and history.

He was first in his class at West Point.

He excelled in management to the point that he was a 4-star general.

So, how is he not qualified?

The manly demeanor is just a plus, sure to attract the "security moms" who are the swing voters.

84. Clark displays as much knowledge on the issues as
any of the 9 Dems, and he displays 10 fold knowledge on the issues of national security and diplomacy as well as foriegn policy. It is not the Dems fault 9-11 happened and the Repugs were able to and perverse enough to make a national tragedy a political bonanza, but the fact remains the same, NATIONAL SECURITY is what the Dems are percieved as weak on and he can over come this obstacle. The fact that he has a degree in economics and is pro choice and for progressive taxes etc is a freebie. He knows about the economy, he knows about education and importance, he knows enough about the enviroment to persue alternative fuel sources and for god's sake he knows more about governing than the idiot sitting in the WH now, although that's not much to brag about. Clark is the most attractive, and I don't mean physical candidate to more of the populace than any other candidate including the *. He will wipe *bite in the General Election.

89. Sound the Alarm, Sound the Alarm!
Well maybe not, but:

I would like to see Clark run, and I think he will as a Democrat, if for no other reason than the DEBATES!!!!!!!!

If you folks thought Ron Jr. did a good job on Ann Thrax tonight, just wait until Clark with his stage presence and command of the issues meets George Herbert Hover Walker Bush the Second live and in front of millions. You could have a match up like that on pay-per-view and I'd still watch it.

These False Promise Rupublicans have met thier match!!!!!!!!!!!
