The Bush $200 million is overrated pundit pablum.
Edited on Fri Feb-20-04 02:13 PM by TruthIsAll
It's amazing how media propaganda becomes Conventional Wisdom. "Wait till he starts spending for ads, wait till he starts his counterattack, with till the Rove machine goes to work"..blah, blah, blah..

How will Rove coordinate this while he's being Frog-marched out of the WH?

It's like the Bushit about this "very popular war president". They are still saying that, even though he is headed for a landslide defeat if you believe the latest polls.

Bush has already been proven a liar and thief in the World Court of Public Opinion. Further exposure of his lies can only bring him down further. Let him try to solidify his base. We don’t need them. He won't convert anyone who has already left the fold.

But for those still concerned about the $200 million scorched earth policy of Rove media slander, here's what the Dems can do:

1.Ask George Soros to contribute a fraction (2%) of his $5 billion – that’s $100 million. Soros said he would give up his fortune to defeat Bush. Let him.
2.Have Kerry and his wife contribute $100 million of their $800 million fortune.
3. Have 51 million Gore voters contribute $5. That’s 51 million * $5 = $ $255 million. Howard Dean can show JFK how to do it on the Net.

When Bush starts his 9/11 war pResident crap, let's counter with clips of:

1.Bush sitting at Booker School doing nothing.
2.9/11 victims demanding Bush testify in public.
3.Unemployed software professionals whose jobs have been outsourced.
4.Parents of troops killed in Iraq who want to bring them home.
5.Greg Palast videos of Bush stealing Florida.
6.Bush lying about WMD.
7.Ann Coulter smearing Max Cleland.
8.Retired CIA (McGovern, etc.) lambasting Bush over Wilson/Plame
9.VFW talking about their lost benefits.
10.Karl Rove’s history going back to Watergate.
11.Cheney/Halliburton.
12.Compare War Hero Kerry to AWOL-coward Chickenhawk Bush.
13.The Bush stuffed-crotch helicopter landing: “Mission Accomplished”. NOT.
14.Bush daring the Iraqis to “Bring 'em on”.
15.Barcharts comparing Employment, Deficit and Stock Market stats under Bush 1, Clinton, Bush 2

And that's just for starters...I forgot to mention Diebold and BBV.

2. Where's the outrage at Bush's non-stop fundraising?
The Rethugs routinely hammered Clinton and Gore for their fundraising, which is nowhere near what Bush and Cheney have raised nor did Bill and Al spend that much time (and taxpayer dollars) doing it. Where the f@ck is the lazy media on this issue?

7. Clinton and Gore were sleazy money-grubbing ghouls
George Bush is a muscular campaigner; a hugely successful fundraiser who fills his party's coffers and makes them strong.

I've seen both of those opposite inflections on the same activity made consistently and repetitively by the corporate punditocracy over the past eight or so years. They were as disdainful of Clinton and Gore raising money as they are impressed with Bush raising money.

Just one of thousands of hypocrisies that tell the tale of the mainstream media's firm bias to the right.

3. Those Who Think Money Can't Buy Happiness ...
don't know where to shop. Be aware, the $200 million will buy a lot of air time. The GOP will make the shrub look like he walks on water.

This election will be close!

4. GOP money gets spent far quicker
Edited on Fri Feb-20-04 02:13 PM by mouse7
Why? Staff costs. The GOP has to pay serious bucks to practically every staffer it has working campaigns. Ask Howard Dean how quick paid staff costs eat up massive sums of money.

The left works campaigns for free or for subsistance wages except for upper levels of staff.

5. well sure, but to be honest about it
the Kerry's can only give 2000 each, along with Soros directly to the campaigns. I bet if you combine the 527s with the amount raised by all the candidates combined, we're getting a lot closer to Bush over the same period. remember, donations are limited to 2,000 each.

9. I wonder how much of that money will find it's way
to accounts in Switzerland? I think we're making too much of all the money this moron* has raised, the genius of kkkarl. Our boy has been exposed for what he is over the last three years, they could have 200 million at the third that's not going to change what we've all seen. It's time for the focus group to be heard.
