"The Guy James Show" really needs your help. Keep kicked please!

I know there are many of you who are suffering thru tough times. We are as well. We have tried very hard these last 15 months to provide you with quality, interesting, thought provoking Liberal radio. We think the show is getting better each and every week. We have a very large web audience (DU'ers are a significant part of it) and a growing local audience. We air our program on PowerTalk 1200AM in Ft. Myers, Florida and also stream it live from 3pm to 6pm on Saturdays.

We have not asked for your assistance for many months now due to the generosity of a donor who wanted to do his part and provide about half of the money it takes to produce the program each month. He has stopped giving now. You should know that neither Mike nor I make a dime from the show nor does Frank the Production manager. Personally, I am out many, and I do mean many, thousands of dollars to fund the program. I do it because I believe its important to a Democratic effort to set things straight in America. I do it because the Conservative Right is pounding us into the ground in the media and someone has to try and even things up a bit. And, frankly, I do it because I despise the Bush cabal and all they stand for.

We are at a crossroads with the show. We either need to give it up because I just cannot afford to finance it almost by myself anymore or get help to keep going. The costs may surprise you. Just the streaming bill, high speed line and toll-free phone bill costs in excess of $1300 per month to say nothing of the air-time which costs nearly $300 per hour.

Liberal show hosts all across America are losing their programs because of lack of financial support. I know some of them personally and I know that they have all the talent necessary to have successful programs. We just can't get over the hump financially. We need your help.

Now before you give me lots of suggestions about how to raise money, be advised that our team has tried almost anything that anyone could possibly think of to gather funds. Keep in mind that we're in a very heavy Republican area and that doesn't help. I recently asked a radio station manager in this area this question: "If I can raise enough money to pay you for all of the ads you sell during afternoon drive time (three to six) will you put us in that slot? (Of course I was not serious because I know I can't get that kind of money) His
answer was "no way, I couldn't put a Liberal program on at that time or I would lose my job." Keep in mind the fact that this guy LOVES our program. Thats what we're dealing with here. We have had several "feelers" from possible syndicators and that may well happen in a few months but in the meantime, we have to find a way to keep the show alive.

So, I'm asking you for help. We're going to have to shut our doors in a very short time if we can't raise the necessary money to keep going. If you can donate to the program the Guy James team would be ever so grateful. You may go to our website at www.theguyjamesshow.com and donate there.
