Paul Weyrich on C-Span: Freeing Congress
A perfect example of why our Congress will never be free and why Mr Weyrich's appearance is disingenuous.

A caller from Chester PA, was trying to make the point that our candidates and all other candidates really need to have an honest discussion about the US blindly following and supporting Israel even when Israel commits atrocitice or acts against US interests. Mr. Weyrich, in his response, never even mentioned the word Israel but proceeded to talk about Syria sponsored terrorim. It was the poorest job of re-framing the question I have seen to day but it was still effective in that he never even responded to the core issue that the caller raised.

This is a why our Congress will never be free and the real interests of the American people will always be secondary to the interests of Israel. This was a shameful display of the arrogance and manipulation of the neocon, AIPAC, AEI representatives of the agenda in our foreign and domestic policies. Outrageous!! And no one challenged him on not answering the question.

2. these issues need to be discussed...it is the MAIN part of US
policies in the middle east and bush* perpetual pre-emptive war policies....

but, sadly, a few people here SCREAM LOUDLY every time anyone brings it up....so bad, that the screamers had to be put in their own little forum....it's OUR money that supports Israel, the that gives us the right to DISCUSS where OUR money goes and what it is used for...

IMO, bush* will throw Israel away totally when he finishes his bases in Iraq and Afganistan...so they better watch out...bush* really doesn't care and when that 'tiny' country becomes useless to him (which is almost is now), bush* will abandon them...he learned it from his father....

3. Just happened to have this
Evolved out of the Committee for the Survival of a Free Congress (CSFS), established by Paul Weyrich and Joseph Coors in Jule 1974. "It was formed in 1977 to meet a dual purpose: 1. to examine public policies in social and family areas, and 2. to conduct studies of the electoral process." Focuses on training eledted officials and grassroots activists to participate in the political process. In 1990, this expertise was taken to Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union. It engages in political activity through publishing, organizing forums on Capitol Hill and elsewhere, networking with other right-wing groups, lobbying and through the Free Congress PAC. At the Christian Coalition Road to Victory II conference, September 11th and 12th, 1992, Weyrich announced plans for the FCF to work closely with the Christian Coalition.

Paul Weyrcih's association with Coors goes back to the early 1970's. Weyrich and Coors shared a desire to influence governmental policies toward a radical right position. In the 1970's, Richard Viguerie did the direct-mail fundraising for the CSFC. "Weyrich, Viguerie and Howard Philips were trying to create a new center of political action to the right of the Republican Party, which they saw as too moderate."

5. Well, this explains it all.
Notice you don't even get much response about this issue even on DU. The tentacles run deep. But the caller from Chester is absolutely correct....this is an issue that needs a public airing without being manipulated by the media but none of the candidates has the guts to address it so the American public will go on paying the price in jobs and lives.
