1. Salem Is All Evil

If you think Clear Channel is bad...Salem is the evil incarnate.

This is a company that owns hundreds of radio stations across the country...many are large signals that spew right wing hate mongers like Janet Parshall and Ollie North...is the largest broadcast platform for Dobson's "Phlegm On The Family" and a whole host of preachers and screetchers.

What makes this company very disenegenuous is that many of the shows are not produced by the company but are sold to various fringe groups...almost all fundie repugnicans who then spew their crap outside of any FCC or NAB guidelines. Salem makes big bucks this way and thousands hear unadulterated GOOP/Christian Coalition lies 24 hours a day...all on the public airwaves.

This company also runs a format called "The Fish"...a "Contemporary Christian" music format (translation: rock music censored to replace sex with "jesus") that they advertise as "Family Safe" and "non-offensive". Being Jewish, I don't find messages, especially to my children, preaching the new testament to be "family safe"...in fact, I find them highly offensive.

This company...and several others, have a large chunk of broadcast property...licensed as a "public trustee", but try to get a contrary viewpoint on these stations...or even attempt to buy an hour will be turned away (I can share that story sometime with those who are interested) by Salem.

One major goal of a future Democratic administration is surely the complete revision of the FCC and a revision of the ownership rules...including the licensing of public airwaves to private religious organizations.

IMO, bush* has led us to facism, with pre-emtive wars, U.S.A.P.A.T.R.I.O.T. Act, and much much more.......but at least we can all agree that facism is here...so let's do something about it...and BOOT BUSH back to his pigfarm....

maybe some of these racical right-wingnuts will actually vote against bush too.....one can only hope....
