Scotty on cspan NOW!

Helen just asked him about the community service.. Little Scottie refused to answer and quickly moved on. Ha HA!

So far the tone is very subdued, wonder if Karl made threatening calls all weekend??

9. I read something about him having to do
community service for a drug bust...records sealed. Poppy intervened - he knew the judge. I believe it's in 'Fortunate Son' by Hatfield

19. Yes, that's right.
Unfortunately Hatfield didn't have hard evidence, and now he's "suicided." There was even speculation that Rove gave him the information so he could later discredit both Hatfield and the cocaine story based on Hatfield's long-ago felony conviction. So does Helen have something new to spring on them? She's being so persistent about that question, like she's trying to get Scotty boy to say something stupid, like denying the drug thing.

They are getting tired of the run around.

Asking about Bush economic numbers ...

"just answer the question" ...

"no, you havent answered the question"

"WHY was the number predicted??"

Hmmmmm.

"you didn't answer the question and everybody watching knows you didn't answer the question"

Scott: "I disagree"

Was asking about why the original, fantastic job creation estimates were put out.

Its about time. Hope they keep it up thru the election.

Edited on Wed Feb-18-04 12:52 PM by kayell
why should we believe these jobs predictions are any better than any of the other jobs predictions?

How can you claim these policys will increase job growth when in fact they haven't?

14. Yep, he said it

Scott just said Bush 'inherited' a recession.

What a load of bullsh*t. That is a flat out LIE.

"Should voters hold Bush accountable and responsible for what he says?"

This is getting interesting

15. VP Cheney has family member that’s gay

'Since gay marriage is an issue right now, has Cheney talked with the prez regarding this?'

Of course Scott didn’t answer that either.. But imho at least they are bringing up questions they would never have asked before last week.

20. Mike Malloy has a great suggestion ...

He said they should get together in the hall or somewhere before the briefing.. And pick one question and then when it starts, one after another, they all ask the same question.

Mike figured Simple Scotty would never answer and eventually would just walk off the stage..

Then the reporters should come back the next day and start off will the very same question.

I would pay MONEY to see that happen!

21. No. Do you know what the press should do?
They should say, "Scott, I'm going to print 'Bush Administration officials would not deny that George W. Bush was sentenced to community service for cocaine posession in the early '70's".

-or-

"Bush Administration spokesman won't say whether Bush believes his own numbers".

And so on.

If the guy hired to speak for the White House won't answer the questions he's hired to answer, the press should be able to work on assumptions. If the White House doesn't like it, let them officially deny the reports.

By TERENCE HUNT, AP White House Correspondent

WASHINGTON - The White House backed away Wednesday from its own prediction that the economy will add 2.6 million new jobs before the end of this year, saying the forecast was the work of number-crunchers and that President Bush (news - web sites) was not a statistician.
