There was even speculation that Rove gave him the information so he could later discredit both Hatfield and the cocaine story based on Hatfield's long-ago felony conviction. He said they should get together in the hall or somewhere before the briefing.. And pick one question and then when it starts, one after another, they all ask the same question.

Mike figured Simple Scotty would never answer and eventually would just walk off the stage..

Then the reporters should come back the next day and start off will the very same question.

I would pay MONEY to see that happen!

"Bush Administration spokesman won't say whether Bush believes his own numbers".

And so on.

If the guy hired to speak for the White House won't answer the questions he's hired to answer, the press should be able to work on assumptions. If the White House doesn't like it, let them officially deny the reports.
