IeAmerica talk radio goes off the air...now what?
Edited on Wed Feb-18-04 08:41 AM by mac2
According to Thom Hartmann's article, liberal talk radio is in demand. Link: http://www.commondreams.org/views03/0811-02.htm and http://progressivetrail.org/articles/040120Kall.shtml

This is good for Thom to have a voice but what about Mike Malloy?

This month it goes off the air. There are many liberal talk show hosts on here and there but basically its not national like Rush.

Why aren't the unions keeping this station live and selling their message in an important election year? Their message to the people silenced? Someone made them a deal they couldn't refuse...like RWers?

1. Your are right. If the Unions wanted to do something to help the common
worker, they would contribute huge sums to "liberal talk radio" instead of candidates who voted for NAFTA!!

3. Well, after NFTA
sent a ton of auto workers jobs to mexico, the UAW might not have many members left or they are bankrupt. At least we have Cental air radio coming soon.

4. Or liberals who supported the war?
There are liberals on talk radio that supported the Iraq war, etd. They seem to be more common than the one who didn't don't you agree?

When someone runs for public office,in the Democratic Party, calling themselves a liberal or Progressive (actually even a real Democrat) but support FTTA and WTO, the wars...you know they are a "liberal in sheep's clothing". This is not good for our party or the people period.

5. It effects the largest one...
It effect the main ieAmerica station that is both on Am and web stream. Other liberal talk show hosts around the country on AM or web stream (such as Meria Heller)continue.

It is just the largest of liberal radio by unions.

6. I truly hope....
that Mike Malloy gets a job with some radio station...He and Randi Rhodes are awesome and their voices need to be heard...especially at this time of the year. Are there any rumors with regards to Malloy catching on with a radio station/network?

7. IE was losing $900,000 per year.
Malloy was their last show. The rest are from other sources. The idea was to sell the shows to stations. it didn't happen.
