New Voting System in Orange County
Edited on Wed Feb-18-04 01:27 AM by One of the Few
Well, I was at the Tustin City Council meeting and I was shown an instructional video on our new voting machines. I am fairly suspicious, but why would the repukes need to rig Orangutan County, CA.

Here is the link, tell me what you think of it. I am a little weary.

1. Demand a Paper Trail for MEANINGFUL recounts
RECOUNT

Q: What if a recount is necessary?

A: The new system provides Orange County election officials with a Cast Vote Record, which shows what votes were cast on each voting device. This Cast Vote Record provides a means of recounting votes and ensuring that results are accurate.

---------
The above is bogus. If there is a software error or fraud, checking what the machine recorded won't help.

2. No paper trail equals potential fraud.
Encourage everyone you know to vote absentee until state law mandates a verified paper trail.

3. Don't count on it...
As long as Kevin "I'm a fucking DINO jackass who voted for Ah-nold" Spacey is SoS, it's not happening. :-(

4. I live in Tustin too!
Tonight I was doing some volunteer work for the Pacific Symphony and did not even hear of the meeting regarding the voting machines. If you need some support at the next meeting shoot me an e-mail.

6. To add 10% more votes for state total.
There are still some smart people in Orange county. If those machines are too smart there will be fewer votes for Dems and more votes for Bush than will be cast for Bush. With no way to correct that.

8. This OC girl will not vote using those machines.
I'm absentee until all issues with them are cleared up.

Does my absentee vote count? Or am I screwed either way?

Trust me, there are quite a few Dems here in OC, and just as many "decline-to-state" voters who rarely vote GOP. Add the two groups together, and we equal the GOP in numbers.
