Soldier says: "It's common for people" to not come to work or go AWOL.
Bush doesn't mention military service flap

http://www.mercurynews.com/mld/mercurynews/news/politics/7974466.htm

FORT POLK, La. - President Bush, dogged by questions about his Vietnam-era service in the Air National Guard, surrounded himself with a sea of military olive and beige Tuesday, touting his credentials as commander in chief at an Army base that has sent thousands of troops to Afghanistan and Iraq and lunching with a soon-to-be-deployed group of guardsmen.

White House officials said Bush's campaign-style stop at Fort Polk had nothing to do with the controversy over gaps in his service record with the Air National Guard between May 1972 and May 1973. snip

Bush said nothing about the controversy over his Guard service. snip

"Everybody in the Guard does it," said an Army specialist who helps train Guard troops at the fort. "It's common for people" to not come to work or go AWOL.

1. Someone needs to tell this dumbass...
that the President of the United States is not supposed to be an "average" person.

Unfortunately, this president is very, very average.

4. Well you know, they're strong on defense....as long as someone

12. Yup, he leads by example.
Inspires our kids to lie, cheat, steal.

Teaches them poor English, poor manners, poor leadership.

By now, our kids think this is how a leader supposed to be.

Everyone's doing it. This is the message of the PUBs. Bush is doing America great harm and they don't care. They don't even see it, Thus is Delusion.

7. Not OK for MONTHS at a time without checking in.
Not OK when you still have a Service Obligation to fulfill.

Not OK to just skip your flight physical. Unless, of course, you know the fix is already in and you'll never be flying again.

His Daddy took care of all this for him.

15. Just because it is common, that does not make it RIGHT.
It is common for corporate America to screw it's employees and some investors...Enron, harken Energy etc.
Doesn't make it right.
Murder and rape is common in America...doesn't make it right.
