How Should DC Receive Voting Representation in Congress?
Obviously, the ideal solution would be 2 senators and a representative, but this may prove difficult, especially b/c it would probably require a constitutional amendment, which is EXTREMELY difficult to pass, esp. right now, when DC is a federal money pit, high crime rate, high poverty, overwhelmingly black.

Is there a way for DC to gain representation w/out a constitutional amendment or can it receive statehood or be recognized as the equivalent of a state w/out an amendment?

What abt the compromise solution that has been floated? One DC representative in the House, and have DC and Maryland jointly represented in the Senate? I personally would prefer giving 2 senators to DC alone, it seems their right, but if this solution is the only one that will pass, I might be willing to support it, since a half a loaf is better than no loaf at all, and at least DC residents would gain a voice in Congress.

What's appropriate and achievable?

4. I don't know
When I lived in Maryland, I used to listen to Mark Plotkin, who was gung-ho for full representation.
