How much effort is being put into connecting * to far right voters?

We've seen pics of halos around his head and read about far left fundamentalist influence on admin behavior (can't bring myself to call it policy). Rove reportedly has plans to bring out 4 million fundies who didn't vote in '00.

Was No Child Left Behind, *'s unfunded education mandate, meant to serve as a code phrase to appeal to his fundie Left Behind reading base? (Oh look, Dear Leader is our shepherd, making sure our children aren't left behind after the Rapture!)

On second thought, I'm not sure those folks read on a regular basis. But still - "No Child Left Behind?" It's plain as the nose on your face.

It seems to be just one more banner headline they can use as a photo op along with the halo.

Good point. Didn't think of that. Probably is something to it.

The whole rapture thing, as it's currently understood, is based on a mistranslation. It means to be carried away in ecstasy, not physically taken up to heaven. But literalists can only see the outer husk, not the kernel of truth.

No child should read Left Behind.
