Anyone see Hardball? Almost starting to like Tweety! Moore was great!!
Edited on Tue Feb-17-04 10:38 AM by RegenerationMan
WOW! I was left breathless by the Tweety interview with Moore, who has chapters in his new book on Scrubya's TANG duty:

"He was allowed to skip over 500 names on the waiting list"

"Bush had the most rapid promotion to Lieutenant in military history"

Etc. Etc.!!

And Cleland was fantastic!

Will Tweety even be allowed to stay on the air after this show?

Can't wait until Moore gets longer than 2 minutes to tell the truth about Scrubya!

IMAGINE PRESIDENT KERRY!!

1. I got a suspicious feeling about the media attention
with AWOL. I think it is calculated and controlled. If the *bush family gets this all out in the open and over with now, then it will not have any impact during the final months of the general election.

4. first AWOL
then the whitewashed coke arrest... then, bin Laden family connections... it all adds up to Bush not being a man of integrity.

6. We can only hope this pans out to be true.
I think we really need to attack hard and not let up. I sure did like the Sharpton approach.....the Wisc. debates...

Bush Lied!

No beating around the 'bush".

16. One Thing To Keep In Mind, Liberalnurse. . .
. . . is that once it's mainstreamed the dems can USE it to call into question Li'l Georgie's character, honesty and integrity. When it was just a rumor that DU'ers talked about, it wasn't something that could be a campaign tool. Now it is. That is helpful, no matter the timing.

8. It only adds up If you punch the numbers in.
Unfortunately, I share liberalnurse's pessimism. I seriously doubt the press will punch in the numbers. Anyone playing the slightest bit of attention would know that Bush is a complete sham.

Accepted to an Ivy League school even though he wasn't qualified.
Dodged the draft/Went AWOL
Coke hound
Drunk Driver
(May have gotten an underage girl pregnant and paid for illegal abortion.)
Failed Businessman
Inside Trader.
Ripped tax payers off on baseball stadium.
Good friends with Bin Ladens
Good friends with Ken Lay

I'm sure that I am only scratching the surface here, but the press has been giving this guy a pass for over a decade. I doubt they will change now.

12. true, but
It is encouraging that AWOL is out there now after it not making much of a stir in 2000 or before.

We can only hope. Hopefully, the press is tired of Rove & Bush pissing on them instead of loving it like Bill Bennett going to the dominatrix...

21. 2nd chorus is planned by Bush in Aug - all the above is so 9/10 - we
are looking at new Bush - a proven leader!

And as liberalnurse says - the first chorus will be "old news"

For the Dems, the only solution is to note the Professor's comment that this now mainstream - and we MUST use it now define Bush character/past and 3 years of poor decisions/performance now -

In August the GOP will pour 100 million into the new "morning in America" fantasy Island script - and we must kill the box office for political Fantasy being sold as truth before then.

If we can show what Bush is now, we kill the ability for the GOP to sell the fantasy "truth" in August

What Mathews(sic) does is interview the Democratic position then in the next segment when they are gone, brings on the republican goons who start to trash them, with Mathews joining in...

in the last couple of weeks.

It's James Moore, who has the goods on Bush and the TANG. Interviewed everyone, including Burkett who saw the Bush records they can't find in the trash can.

The book comes out next week, I think.

Here's a link on him and the book. Moore also wrote Bush's Brain -- about Rove.

15. Thanx
But, no thanx.

People are going to vote in November based upon 1) the record of Bush as president, and 2) Kerry's voting record in the Senate (mainly) and as Lt. Governor of Mass.

How these two records play into the average Americans wallet (economy) and their views of national security will be the determining factor. The rest is mud slinging.

13. Calhoun Had No Credibility
Why RoveCo. allow this pondscum to play spokesman for them is beyond me. Letsee...there's the only other witness to see AWOL boy during his Alabama stint was his ex-wife? Because he and * were Republicans and the state was heavily Democratic they kept to themselves?

Wait a second here. Calhoun said that George Wallace's re-election was the major reason they had to "cool" their Repugnican-"ism"...what a crock of crap. Wallace was a Conservative...didn't oppose the Nam war and his followers were already on their way into the GOOP via the Southern strategy. If anything, bunnypant's presence in the state in that '72 election (daddy was head of the RNC) was no fluke...they were working to "convert" the angry whites and bible thumpers.

Tweety let this doofus ramble on way to long and you could see (rolling his eyes) that he didn't believe Calhoun...but let him blather on about the Guard and how pretzelboy was treated no different than anyone else...who were able to get into the guard.

That spin about he was "on loan" is one that Tweety should have hopped all over...asking to see the paperwork on that. Tweety also didn't really bring up the concept of Calhoun all but admitting he played AWOL-boy's private valet/babysitter.

Might be that the Tweedster, but letting this hack make such a fool of himself put even further doubt on those still learning about the manchild's non-miltary history. It also made what Cleland and Moore say about Kerry to sound so much more credible and impressive.

The GOOP better give up on that "Kerry is a traitor/Hanoi Jane" crap...it ain't gaining any traction. Personally, I'd love to see the wingnut attack Kerry's war and post-war action...maybe it'll bring to light the large anti-war activism that was going on in this country at the time that forced the government to scale back and then get us out of that evil war...and, unfortunately, a blue print should this regime continue its folly in Iraq.

connection about how Bush is sending people to die and that presidents that have experienced war would more likely use it as a last resort and that neocons are ideologues who haven't been to war and so on.

He is so confusing, because when Bush did the aircraft carrier prance, Tweety was all worshipful and said Kerry couldn't compete with that!

What is the deal with these people? There is some reason for their flip-flops, wonder what it is? Do they just blow around with public opinion to try and get ratings?

Adding: I was thinking that he resembles that bi-polar Tommy Lee Jones villain from "Batman Forever": Two-Face!

19. I agree
Tweety was all over Calhoun. Then there was an amazing exchange between one guest and the Vietnam Veterans against Kerry representative. The VVAK rep said that Kerry went before Congress and called all Vietnam vets babykillers. Another guest, I can't remember his name but he was so solid, called the VVAK rep a liar that keeps surfacing everywhere to smear Kerry's record.
