Glenda Hood (Fl Sec of State) is a moran.
I don't know what it is with the state of Florida but we have had the worst Sec. of States in history. From Sandra Mortheim, to Katherine Harris and now this piece of work Ms. Glenda Hood.

Hood was on NPR this morning talking about all the things they were doing to restore voter confidence and how reliable these new systems proved to be in the 2002 election, which that statement alone proves shes full of shit. I guess she didn't hear about the problems in WPB and Broward a few months ago where the machines showed 100's of votes where the people didn't vote for anything and that it was impossible to do a proper recount has mandated by state law?

Then she made the outrageous claim that the machines to print out a ballot can't be added to the touch screen systems because they haven't even been manufactured yet. So since these machines haven't even been manufactured yet, they couldn't possible be manufactured in time to certify them for the election. Excuse me, but I think the electronic printer for use with computers was invented at least 30 years ago? As a matter of fact, you can now pick up one of these magical devices at any office supply or home electronics store for under $100 a piece. Considering the fact that most of the touch screen system use MS Access, I really don't see why it is such a big deal to hook up a printer? I know Access is a hackable dog of a program but even Access can communicate with any off the shelf computer printer.

1. TruVote - NASED certified system with verified, printed vote
Accountant/inventor Athan Gibbs, Sr., unveiled his company’s Tru-Vote Voter Validation System. This system provides the voter with a receipt, an Internet website, and a telephone number to verify that his/her vote has been counted. The unveiling of the system was a huge success at the National Newspaper Publishers Association (NNPA) meeting at the Atlanta Hilton and Towers this past weekend.

In describing the system, Gibbs stated that the voter is issued a receipt at the voting booth with a computer-generated voter validation number. This number will allow every voter to independently verify that their vote was cast, received, recorded, and counted in the exact manner that they intended.

This is an oft repeated lie told by most Secretaries of State, including Cathy Cox of Georgia.

2. a "receipt" does not solve any problems...
only a paper ballot solves anything.

only a paper ballot that can be audited.

4. Glenda Hood has always been known as a ...
....right-wing hag. Her statements in the past have been crammed full
of illogical, irresponsible crap. See hasn't the qualifications or the intelligence to lead a pack of cockroaches much less be a leader of voter issues. I live in Florida and for the life of me these people (like Glenda) must be chosen for their lack of thinking skills....

5. Who ever thought someone could be worse than
Katherine Harris? But thanks to Jeb we don't even get to vote for Sec. of State anymore. Now a days Jeb gets to pick his own flunkies, how convenient.
