Uh-huh. Isn't that weird--Prez won't testify to *entire* 911 Comsn...

Link

Hmmm, seems Mr Bush doesn't want to testify to the whole 9/11 Commission.
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The White House said Saturday that President Bush plans to meet with only a limited number of representatives from the commission investigating the Sept. 11 attacks, despite a statement issued Friday that suggested he would meet with the whole panel.

The new details surprised some commission officials and members -- who believed they had secured a promise from Bush for a private meeting with all 10 members -- and could add to the tensions that have strained relations between the two sides.

Well, isn't that curious. According to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune article Cheney, Gore, and Clinton are all meeting to meet with the whole panel, not just a couple or three of them. Now why would you supppose he's not wanting to face all of them. After all, the four men aren't offering public testimony, only confidential, intelligence oriented testimony. Ohhh... maybe intelligence is the issue. Here's what more of the article says:

The official added that the White House had not decided whether a meeting would include only the panel's chairman, former New Jersey governor Thomas H. Kean (R), and vice chairman, former representative Lee H. Hamilton (D-Ind.), or other members, as well.

Commission member Richard Ben-Veniste, a Democrat and former Watergate prosecutor, said it "would be important for all the members of the commission to have an opportunity to participate in an interview such as this. There is a significant difference in being present, seeing a witness in person and having an opportunity to ask follow-up questions, and simply reading a transcript or memo," he said.

Yes, but if you carefully read the constitution, as interpreted according to Antonin Scalia, you'll see that presidents named Bush have an inalienable constitutional right to not appear to be a dumbfuck.

3. "Giving the world the impression he as something to hide"
He certainly gives this impression to informed people not restricted to a 1984-like framework of thinking.

But "giving the world this impression"? I don't belief that, because e.g. the German media completely ignores this story (as well as my very detailed letter, complaining about this), and I strongly doubt that the US newspapers report it so that this impression can be formed by the audience. They could, for instance, present an explanation of Bush (national security...) in a neutral tone, as though that were a legitimate explanation.

I am afraid his refusal to "advise" the whole commission will not hurt him either.

4. "an inalienable constitutional right to not appear to be a dumb-fuck."
.
.
.

Well he gave THAT right up as soon as he started talking in PUBLIC, no ?

I can't think of another politician that fumbles around with the English language, hems and haws as much as Junior does . Even our controversial Chretien had a better command of the English language . .

If one wants to read between the lines, well one HAS to read between the lines if one expects to discover a grain of truth in anything coming out of the WH . .anyways, reading between the lines I notice that Commission member Richard Ben-Veniste, the guy who prosecuted in the Watergate mess, is conspicuously off even the "maybe" list.

Personally, I think they ALL should be in on this "testimony" hearing, and if not, ESPECIALLY those with experience in investigating & Prosecuting people like Junior and his gang in the past.

From the Article:

"Cheney, Clinton and Gore have also agreed to offer private testimony to the panel, commission officials said. The parties have not decided on details, however, including whether any of the four men will be asked to testify under oath.

/snip/

One major point of friction has been the administration's insistence on sharply limiting the panel's access to selected presidential intelligence briefings, which were shown only to Kean, Hamilton and two other representatives. A 17-page summary of the briefings, edited by the White House, was given to the full commission last week."

/snip/

NOT testify under oath ? ?

- that's not "testifying" then, that's having a CHAT for chrissake..

- and full access to the REAL documents should be mandatory. An "edited summary"? Well geegolyfrickadee, isn't that like being "filtered" twice?

Not much flavor in the stew when the meat and bones been filtered out TWICE . . .

I guess I coulda made this short.

and just say that anything less than full disclosure from the WH on how the USA was invaded and attacked causing more death and destruction than anything since Pearl Harbor, is a waste of time, and disgusting.

And how the Texacutioner has maintained his position as pResident until now is beyond me.

Hopefully y'all will have a different leader in November.

Ya, I's ABB all the way!

7. "the media certainly is guilty of accessory." ? ?

Well gee,

isn't the Media down there part of the Military and WH Administration?

Sure reads like it most of the time, well, except for the odd "rabble-rouser" here and there that eventually seems to disappear into obscurity or end up "seeing the errors of their ways"

So in effect, they are "just doing their job".

Junior pulled his sh_t at the wrong time in History I'm afraid, I'm one of millions that accesses the Internet, and check sources all over the world.

Papa didn't have that problem, and now, facts and reports are spread through our, yes, OUR network of sources now, and we have the dubious advantage of getting our "facts" from other than what is affectionately known as "mainstream" media.

Bush will not go unpunished in the long run, but tens of thousands have died so far at his hands, and the longer he is in power, the more innocent people will continue to die.

That's how I see it anyways.

to raise Hell about this issue.

There is but a small window in history for any public influence here.

On a personal note, I will assure readers that there is a noticable increasing public support at our regular Saturday KC 911 Visibility protests. Many people realize that the media is ignoring this scandel and are HUNGRY for independent information about this issue. Last Saturday, there were more honks of support than I ever remember hearing. There was also much less negativity than just a few months ago.

Forming a 9-11 visibility group in your area is easy, and it is a healthy outlet. NOW is a great time to start your town in this 9-11 Visibilty movement. The number of cities and towns becoming involved continues to grow.

We provide a step-by-step how-to guide to help you get your group together, complete with tips on tabling at events, organizing actions and demos, networking with local peace and justice groups, etc. Everything you need to get started, including where to buy 9-11 books, videos and other materials, is in an online guide.

10. Testify?? He won't even do that.....
He isn't going to testify under oath to anything, thats only reserved for Presidents who got a blow job. If these tutu wearing Dems don't start raising the roof over this shit then we might as well shut the door and turn off the lights.

The gall of this fucker to pick and choose who he'll talk to,weather or not he'll testify...Unbelievable.

12. Even Nixon wasn't this brazen...
...about his testimony. Of course back then...Democrats AND Republicans were interested in justice.

- These commissions are simply scams...with enough Bush* supporters in charge to make sure the Big cheese doesn't have to testify and nothing 'new' comes out.

11. They also only
allowed their select few to view their documents. It really IS a sham and thats supposedly why Max Cleland left the panel. I hope he speaks out and tells all.

13. Democratic Platform #2 (right behind economic issues)...
...should be a pledge from our nominee that FULL and UNHINDERED investigations will take place once the Dems are securely in the WH. Everything, from 9/11 to Plame (if the present investigation yields nothing in the way of convictions) to Iraq's WMD's, should be investigated FULLY once the BFEE is out of power. And, goddamn it, I hope they document EVERY TINY detail of damage to the WH when they leave and put the list on the nightly news!! Fuck those petty son-of-a-bitches!!!
