WE WERE AT DAYTONA AND BUSH WAS LOUDLY BOOED. THERE WAS SOME CHEERING BUT IT WAS DROWNED OUT BY THE BOOS. BUSH LOOK STARTLED BUT KEPT THE SMIRK GOING.

He confirms it....Bush was booed loudly! He said there were at least as many people booing as cheering. I firmly believe this kid's report..he is so straight he wouldn't lie about anything. (BTW, he's a NASCAR dad who doesn't like Bush.)

18. Well, my hubby was there

and I didn't ask about booing, darn it, but I did ask about someone's comment yesterday that it sounded more like polite applause than "the crowd went wild!" He said that, from where he was sitting, at least, it was NOT a crazy, happy crowd, that 'polite applause' was a lot more apt description.

He thought that more of the guys, at least, were more interested in seeing the machinery attached to the group - he could see AF1 parked closeby, and they were admiring the heavily-armored suburbans, etc.

Now, my husband is not a typical nascar guy - he goes each year to Daytona because it's one of those work things - when the boss asks, you GO! And he definitely is not as... well, as vocal in his criticism of the chimp as I am, so I figured I'd get a pretty unbiased opinion from him.

He also said that they were playing an interview that bush did in the booth with the nascar commentators, and he sounded like a complete 'moran'. That surprised me a bit, because I thought bush almost sounded like he could complete a full sentence in the post 'start your engines' interview, but I guess the earlier one was appalling.
