3. Been around for a while.
Got it in a FAIR email some time ago, I think.

I can't conceive of just what drugs CNBC honchos are on to give this boring turd a show in the first place, but I'll give Miller credit for one thing-- he's an honest turd. At least he's not trying to con anyone with the fair and balanced bullshit.

Or, maybe he just hasn't figured out how.

4. I question the timing...
It might have been an honest decision for Miller to jump fully into the conservative camp, but the timing makes me suspicious.

First, it's a given that conservative mouthpieces on TV/radio generate more ratings heat than liberals. If you want popularity, you gotta bash liberals. (For some reason, lots of Americans love to see defenders of social justice be ridiculed. Says alot about what people really believe, but I digress.)

But Miller just happened to publicly declare his (new-ish) loyalties around the time he lost his Monday Night Football and AT&T gigs (and I think his HBO show was done too)--the same time many liberals were bashing the Bush administration for the Gestapo Act, I mean Patriot Act.

Miller's a smart guy. He undoubtedly saw the writing on the wall. If he wanted a show again, he'd have less of a chance if he was doing "anti-American" material.

Enter the New And Improved Dennis Miller.

In some ways, it's still Dennis Miller. And I can understand if someone disagrees with my view of his recent past. But there's SOMETHING peculiar about the timing in all this.

5. Dennis Miller a talentless GOP whore
Fumetti, you are SO right about Dennis Miller. I do remember that his shows were lagging badly. He was getting canned left and right. Then I saw something on TV where he met with shrub on Air Force One. I knew then that he had whored himself out. He was once on Bill Maher's show, Real Time, and he could not keep up with the other panelists. It was so obvious he injected humor when he didn't have anything smart or pertinent to say. It was so pathetic. That episode of Real Time shocked me because I thought he was MUCH sharper than that. But he's not...not even close. Bill Maher runs circles around him. ACtually, I can think of alot of hollywood stars could run circles around him.

6. actually truthtellers out rank the doublespeakers wherever they compete
Mike Webb is the top-ranked show on the largest station in his region; Randi Rhodes stomps Limpballs, etc. The "market share" of the lying liars is only due to the fact that clearchannel and corpwhoremedia give them more radio bandwidth. They are broadcast more widely, but they do not "generate more ratings" when there is any alternative. The fact that the proto-fascist voices dominate the media is not due to ratings; it is a matter of editorial decisions made by owners.

7. I watched his HBO show
occasionally - he would NOT let the big dog blow job go - always going 4 the cheap laugh - it was tiresome...but miller wigged out after 9/11. He is a chickenshit coward. One night, after 9/11, he was rant/slammin' immigrants. I wanted 2 ask him who mowed his lawn, kept his house, cooked his meals. After that I only watched him once - when Carl Pope was his guest. In typical RW style, he'd ask a question but never let Pope finish the answer. Picked up remote.........gone surfing. Buh-by denny!

8. Miller tried to have a celeb talk show in 1992, and it *flopped.*
So, now he's trying the right-wing thing, and he'll be gone by June.
