What are your first impressions of the candidates running for president? The American Research Group is researching verbal and non-verbal reactions of random voter panels to 14 possible candidates for president. We would like to compare some of the responses of these panels to the responses of Internet users.

When you click on the button... the computer will randomly select one of 14 possible candidates for president (George W. Bush, Joe Biden, Carol Moseley Braun, Wesley Clark, Hillary Clinton, Howard Dean, John Edwards, Dick Gephardt, Al Gore, Bob Graham, John Kerry, Dennis Kucinich, Joe Lieberman, or Al Sharpton) and ask for your first impression. After you submit your responses to 3 questions, you will be returned here so that you can have the computer randomly select another candidate for you, if you wish.

I was given Bob Graham. For the word or phrase to describe him, I put "bland, moderate, but principled." I gave my impression of him a "neutral" rating. Anybody else care to give it a shot?

I spent about 10" on it and got everyone except Carol Moseley Braun; kept returning to everyone but never popped up her name ... hmmm?

I kept getting Graham over again but couldn't get Bush or Dean, whom I really wanted to commment on.

It would be a lot easier if they'd dispense with that "random" business and just let us go down a list of all of them.

I did them all.

I gave Dean, Kerry and Carol Moseby-Braun my highest marks

Then came Kucinch, Sharpton, Clinton, Graham, Clark

Then Gephardt, Biden

then Gore

then Lieberman, Bush

I really had never ranked them all before. It was a blast!
