Bob Brinker's reading "The Price of Loyalty" and "American Dynasty"
What?????? The host of Moneytalk, who was all on the pre-invasion bandwagon and many * taxcuts, is raving about Suskind's "The Price of Loyalty" and said he just bought Kevin Phillips' "American Dynasty."

Bob's a conservative with a nationally syndicated program. He also runs a mutual fund that I believe has a minimum $100,000 investment. He is INSISTING that listeners go out and read "The Price of Loyalty" within the next couple of weeks and is talking about O'Neil as a hero. Bob keeps saying, "All the money is gone" and he is saying that Scott Ritter was right on Iraq and everyone else was wrong.

The world has turned upside down.

2. That's wierd, he's usually praising smirky....
I can't stand his show. One reason is I have no money to invest, so its boring to listen to all the callers who do, but I have heard him on occasion and he was always supporing ChimpCo Inc. in all their nefarious adventures.

Perhaps the tide IS turning in our favor.

3. I have always had a lot of respect for Bob's financial sense.
He has generally been a deficit hawk so it was unusual to hear him so on board for the taxcuts. He got taken in on the Iraq War, but unlike so many others, he's willing to acknowledge it.

You don't need a lot of money to invest, just head it in the right direction.

10. I've respected what I've heard from him, but haven't listened lately.
I seem to remember him respecting Rubin/Rivlin/Panetta et al, back in the good old days.

In fact, he may be the only financial 'airwave advisor' I've ever granted much credence at all.

4. I happened to tune into Bob's program this afternoon:
He said (and this floored me) "If I had a vote, I'd vote for John Edwards. I like that guy."

5. "If I had a vote..." What does that mean?
I thought he was a resident of Nevada. He always complains about California income taxes.

6. The Price of Loyalty was a good read
even if it painted O'Neill in a rosy light. I just started American Dynasty. It's mindboggling just how far the Bush tenticles have stretched into politics, economics and 20th century history.

:scared:

8. that is a shock
Stopped listening to his program about last March when the invasion happened...the pro-* blather on his show was really stomach-churning. Furthermore, he was telling listeners to buy stocks then, like, here we go, let's make some money off the backs of these 'Raqies. If a faithful neocon like Bob Brinker is changing his tune, then that's a sea change...

11. I got really mad at him last year as well.
He brought up the "Iraq was amassing troops on the Saudi border" lie and I sent him a huge email with references suggesting that he stick to economics. He has made good calls and called it right last spring. I'm waiting to see if he suggests another pullback.

12. Bob Brinker's Funny Talk
This guy may know how to "dollar cost average", but he's a tool for the Repugs.

Remember how he spent weeks trashing Al Gore? And all the sneering he did about Clinton? I bet he'd love his portfolio to be Clinton-sized again.

I tuned him out long ago.

14. I can't hit the "Off" switch fast enough.
Making Working Poor like me listening to an "Investment Show" is like making a Somali kid watch a Murkan family of 6 grease down at Golden Corral...

Guess Bob regrets now not going ahead and becoming a "Bush pioneer"....
I have heard that he's getting critical of the GOP.
