another bit of Chicago news relevant to this topic, Illinois prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald is investigating the Valeri Plame incident and may file charges against an administration official. At this point, it looks like Karl Rove is responsible.:toast:

He will find out who's responsible and they will be taken down. Fitzgerald recently worked on the case involving corruption of former Illinois Governor George Ryan (repuke). It took a considerable amount of time for the investigation to unravel, but Fitzgerald got an indictment against Ryan and the case is pending.

Fitzgerald got the Ryan investigation off center...pushing to get his underlings to finally talk and then rat out one another. If there's any reason Denny Hastert wanted PETER Fitzgerald gone from the Senate was this appointment (maybe that moron didn't waste 6 years of our tax dollars in the Senate afterall).

My major concern is the ability of the InJustice Department to put lots of handcuffs on this investigation and keep it on ice through the election...similar to the Prosecutor (and I don't remember who) refused to reveal the early investigations into Ryan's corruption prior to the 1998 election. I'd hate to see the same fatal mistakes happen again.

what he was saying was that being AWOL was a felony offense, but the way he said it made it seem like he was accusing Cleland and Rangel of committing a felony for saying it. He said "they said the president was AWOL...that's a felony punishable by imprisonment...."

I listened, too. I knew what he meant. I think he does not know anything about sentence structure and syntax. This seems to be a general failing with this administration and their spokespeople. Notice how fast he talked to get in everything he wanted?

I am glad that Rangel mentioned, more than once, that Gillespie would not appear with him.

But why did little G.E. Timmy put up with that? And why did he allow Gillespie to "respond" to Rangel? Next week, does someone get to respond to Gillespie?

I'm starting to like ferret-face. He's so out there, but so much in the public eye, he's to the Democrats what McAuliffe is to the wingnuts.

Remember when the head of the RNC was a fatherly-type...keeping the big tent full of happy campers? Even Haley Barbour looks like a guy I'd go have beers with compared to this walking excrement. And I like that...since if he's hitting me so badly, I know he's gotta be doing the same to many, many more. There's no greys to this dude...he's one of the biggest partisan hacks I've seen in a long time.

The doofus, by putting out the abortion story, now gives it future legs...especially if an abortion debate comes up (notice the diversion from abortion to gays for the Religious zealots?) and the constant yelling of "over-the-top" is even losing its potency among his own.

He's made it his "legacy" to get his mug on the tube any way he can...being the "face" of the party. What he shows is the Rovian/PNAC corporate goons who really are in charge...counter-acting any "compassionate conservative" crap the manchild may try to pull.

I hope this Vietnam issue doesn't go away and it becomes a litmus test...let's hold it up to all these Chickenhawks and let them explain how they avoided serving their country and expect others to do the dying for them. Then we'll see who the real traitors are!

I had the impression that Ed Gillespie...voice of the Neocons, was about to lose it today with his responses. He was talking faster, his jaws became tenser and his eyes were popping. I think he had a hard time following Charlie Rangle and his defense of Georgie's AWOL status was laughable if not downright painful to watch.
