2. Buchanan just does not do it right in this article.
Edited on Sun Feb-15-04 11:52 AM by 9215
Buchanan does a fair job of making the case that Bush wanted war, facts be damned.

But then he leaves the reader hanging with the question: Why did Bush want war?

Is Bush just a crazy warmonger that likes to blow things up?

Almost all of the critics I've seen lately do not take the next step in their articles and talk about the immense profits and power that comes to the BFEE and the Military Industrial Complex that come from this war.

Buchanan and so many others leave the story only half told.

3. I think it was a rhetorical question
Why:

A matter of personal pique
Oil
Israel
Distraction
Money to cronies
So he could be a "war president"
Stupidity
Hubris
Make Unca Dick happy by doing what he is told

Any or all of the above now fit.

7. And I think George Carlin's list of words you can's say on television
has been expanded to include "The Project for the New American Century."

4. Oil, Oil, Oil

Oil.

Blood for oil.

Plain and simple.

A fine example of how fear can
get people to support anything
govt wants to do.

5. Politics makes ...

Strange Bedfellows. My respect for Pat Buchanan has been rising steadily lately. At least he's honest.

6. Woo Hoo... Congratulations to the DU!
All Buchanan needed to do is study the posts of DUers to research this article. We gotta take credit for telling the world what's really going on even as the GOP characterizes us as "fringe conspiracy nuts". Now one of their own darlings tells it like we have for over 3 years.
