Attention Walmart Customers - We Bring You Fox News

Premier Retail Networks has inked a deal with Fox News Channel for the service to become the exclusive "breaking-news" provider to Wal-Mart Television Network.

Under the deal, terms of which were not disclosed, Fox News will supply live breaking-news segments and alerts for retailer Wal-Mart Stores Inc.’s in-store network, which has multiple monitors in some 2,450 stores nationwide and generates more than 150 million impressions monthly, according to Nielsen Media Research.

A spokeswoman for PRN -- which also supplies programming to in-store networks found in Best Buy Co. Inc., Circuit City Stores Inc., Sears, Roebuck & Co. and other retail chains -- said Wal-Mart TV also includes content from FitTV and Oxygen, as well as promotional and product information.

"As the No. 1 cable news channel in America, we are proud to partner with PRN to deliver our news to Wal-Mart customers nationwide," Fox News vice president of affiliate sales and marketing John Malkin said in a prepared statement. "This is a great opportunity for Fox News to provide breaking news to a significant audience."

14. Hell DOES have a section for Wal-Mart Execs.......
They will share it with the heads of the Railroads from back in the late 1800's, early 1900's. Also there are surely the heads/owners of the old coal companies in WV. KY, PA etc and the Steel Mill owners from the same period. They built America while exploiting, sickening and killing an entire generation of Americans. Nowadays, the exploitation is done in brightly lit, high roofed buildings to ignorantly cheerful, blue smock wearing folks left with little or no other choice.






BTW...Hell is a mythical place, but it sure is fun to think it exists, isn't it?

with any other Pub organization firmly believe it is not in our nation's best interest to help the average citizen.

The best example of that is Bush - if their is a choice between big business and something in any way whatsoever that help the average guy - the big business always wins. Always!

After viewing last nights Bill Moyer's "Now" and the lead story pertaining to how Americans get most of their news stories and opinions from conservative talk show hosts. Is it any wonder that our country is going insane!
Now we have this form of ministry of disinformation "FOX" being piped into Wally World, "Big Brother" cannot be stated enough.
Next thing you know you will have little speakers, like the ones that they have on the moving sidewalks in our airports, planted in all public places broadcasting recorded messages such as- Don't worry the government is protecting you from terror, everything we say is true, soon the comfort you demand will be provided for you, continue to ingest the pharmaceuticals your government provides for you, shut-up and be happy!

But that's not what makes it noteworthy.

What makes BrightHouse noteworthy is the BrightHouse Neurostrategies Institute. The institute undertakes research to see how the brain responds to advertising campaigns, and to use this information to craft more effective marketing strategies.

Here's how the company describes its work:

"We are a novel form of consumer consultancy that leverages scientific knowledge about how the human brain motivates consumer behavior to deliver strategic insights that are intended to enhance the relationship between the consumer and the product, brand and company. Or, as the company said a bit more directly in a 2002 news release: "The Thought Sciences team uses functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI), a safe and non-invasive technique, to identify patterns of brain activity that reveal how a consumer is actually evaluating a product, object or advertisement. Thought Sciences marketing analysts use this information to more accurately measure consumer preference, and then apply this knowledge to help marketers better create products and services and to design more effective marketing campaigns."

Winning advertising approaches spark activity in the medial prefrontal cortex. This shows an instinctive identification with a brand or product. There may be interest and desire for a product if activity appears elsewhere in the brain, but not the same unbridled identification. Or at least that's the theory.

Says Gary Ruskin of the Portland, Oregon-based Commercial Alert, "It sounds like something that could have happened in the former Soviet Union, for purposes of behavior control. Yet it is happening right here in America."

They are also broadcast in Giant food stores in PA. You can often hear me walking through the meat department and suddenly break out in full laughter when they say "you are listening to Fox news fair and balanced.

My recent letter to Costco:

I'm writing you as both an Executive Club member and a Costco shareholder. I shop in your Carsbad, CA store about 3-4 times a month, and I've noticed that all the TVs are always tuned to Fox news. I'm sure you know that of all the mainstream news outlets in the country, Fox is the most politically biased and studies have shown that viewers of Fox news have the poorest grasp on the actual facts. Fox is about as close to being a state-controlled news service as we are about to find anywhere in the free world. As we are now heading into the most critical election year in our nation's history, I would like to suggest that you instruct all your stores to be a little more objective on what programming they plan to beam to all their customers throughout your business hours. Perhaps you could devote a few hours to CNN or every other day to PBS. The TV pictures should look just as good on any of the alternatives, and loyal members like myself will not have to be concerned that Costco is promoting one political view over another.

39. This is probably a local Costco manager and not a company policy
Costco is well-known as a very Democratic organization. None of the stores that I frequent in New Mexico and Idaho have ever played that garbage on their TVs. Almost always it's DVDs, and if their TVs ARE tuned to a broadcast, it's always sports.

I'm glad you wrote the company about this, though. I'm sure they'll "have a talk" with the management in Carlsbad.

Unfortunately it merely affects the electron impact point. All they have to do is turn the tv on again and it automagically de-gausses the CRT.

It does nothing if it is a projection or plasma display.

28. I am soooo ashamed. I bought a large pop from Sam's Club today.
Lemme explain: My father was in town to help me fix my car. He and I were going to buy a new battery, and he suggested Sam's Club. He's an avid Sam's Club shopper (but he's also a staunch liberal and a Dean supporter), but he knows of my objection to the Wal-Mart Evil Empire. So I caved in, and we went to Sam's Club and bought a car battery. I noticed that a 32 oz. pop at the Sam's Club consession stand was only 74 cents. I was really thirsty and in need of a caffeine pick-me-up, and I had to get a Diet Coke from the concession. I felt like kicking myself afterwards.

I'm such a hypocrite. :cry::cry::cry:

But thanks. For a while there I would stop in mid-channel surfing and watch Fox for a few minutes at a time, trying to understand why my mom believes everything they say, and it seemed like they were making an effort to appear more, uh, fair and balanced. But lately - since Bush has been in hot water? Holy crap! I can't even watch for 5 seconds without hearing something outrageously slanted and deeply disturbing.
