Most insane fundie....
http://www.kcstar.com/item/pages/local.pat,local/3acd030e.927,.html

"A prominent female state senator has said that she does not support the 19th Amendment, which guarantees women the right to vote, and that if it were being considered today she would vote against it.

Sen. Kay O'Connor recently told the co-presidents of the Johnson County League of Women Voters that the amendment was the first step in a decades-long erosion of traditional family values."

1. what a sense of entitlement
She's gone around her whole life expecting men to take care of her. Who the hell does she think she is?

What a nutjob...

let her husband take her job.

5. A part of that article that I thought was funny.
Edited on Fri Feb-13-04 11:05 PM by LoZoccolo
And with the onset of higher taxes to finance social welfare programs, said O'Connor, a 15-year homemaker, a second household income was necessary to make ends meet.

Two things:

1. If there hadn't been an expansion of social welfare programs during the depression, does she really think that there wouldn't be a necessity for two incomes? There was child labor at the beginning of the last century!
2. Wasn't there like a 90% tax bracket during the depression, and like a 38% highest one now? Wouldn't that mean it's easier to live on one income?

6. And she says
" As a state leader, O'Connor said, it is more important to stay true to her convictions than simply mirror the views of her constituents. "

-----------------------------------------------------

It is her FUCKING JOB to represent her constituents. What a crazy goddamn bitch.

7. I disagree..
Her duty is first to the Constitutions of the United States of America and to the State of Kansas, secondly, to the principles of a secular, liberal democratic republic, and thirdly, to her constituents.

19. I disagree with your disagreement.
"Her duty is first to the Constitutions of the United States of America and to the State of Kansas, secondly, to the principles of a secular, liberal democratic republic, and thirdly, to her constituents."

No offense, but are you drunk or high? Yes, her primary allegiance is to the "constitutions" but the article said:

"As a state leader, O'Connor said, it is more important to stay true to her convictions than simply mirror the views of her constituents."

You know what? Fuck her convictions. Fuck them with a mojave cactus. It's not her place to interject her wacko fundie opinions. If she is to support the "constitutions" then that includes its ammendments, too, and she's not doing that with her comments.

If women wouldn't have gotten the right to vote, how long would it have taken for her to be able to run for senator?

Stupid.

This chick doesn't see anything wrong with her running and holding a public office, yet she thinks that society went wrong when women's suffrage was passed! That's too funny!

14. my pagan friend Sherri
believes in those things...is she a fundie? Now that would be a hoot...a pagan fundie. :-) She just believes that the male as head of the household is the natural order of things. Not that she doesn't speak her mind or anything...she just believes this is the way it should be.

and taxes...
I once looked her in the eye and said "They'll never accept you. You must know that."
She replied "I know. But I'm voting for them anyway."
I'll never understand that part of her.

Texas State Representative Debbie Riddle (R-Houston): "Where did this idea come from that everybody deserves free education,
free medical care, free whatever? It comes from Moscow, from Russia.
It comes straight out of the pit of hell."

Yep - this is the kind of crap we're up against in this state.
