Firefox Test (For anyone who cares about reform)
I just downloaded and installed Mozilla's latest browser, Firefox. Would my passwords and settings be automatically transferred from the browser it replaces, Firebird?

To find out, I decided to visit my favorite political watering hole. Sure enough, I saw the magic word "JailForBush" at the top of the page.

I strongly urge anyone who really cares about political reform to download a Firefox browser. Why?

The most popular browser by far is Microsoft's Internet Explorer (IE). It's popular because it's better, right? Uh, no. As you may recall, Netscape once boasted some 80% of the market. Microsoft couldn't compete, so it blackmailed computer manufacturers into installing IE on their machines.

When people started up their new computers, they found Internet Explorer ready to go. Few people took the time to research the competition, let alone download it.

Once Microsoft beat Netscape, it did what Microsoft always does: Screwed its customers. It suddenly lost interest in making Internet Explorer the best possible browser. Now there are a variety of browsers that are widely regarded by the pros as superior to IE.

Chief among them are Mozilla and Firefox, which evolved out of Netscape. (Firefox replaces Firebird.)

More than a browser, the Mozilla line is an incredibly versatile tool. You can download a wide range of extensions and plug ins that will improve your enjoyment of the Internet and even assist you in web design.

Only a hypocrite would proclaim their hatred for George W. Bush while excusing the corporate whores who pull his strings. And only an idiot would remove Bill Gates from that sinister group because of his phony "philanthropy."

Bill Gates ranks with George W. Bush as one of the most hated people in the world, and deservedly so. If you really want to contribute to Campaign 2004, there are many simple but important things you can do. Downloading Firefox is one of them. You don't even have to remove Internet Explorer from your system. You can have two or more browsers on your computer. Then you can compare the competition side by side.

So what are you waiting for? Head on over to http://www.mozilla.org/ right now!

1. And it's fast, slick, and convient as well
I've been using Phoenix/Firebird/Firefox since very near the beginning, and I was still amazed at how much faster the latest release loads pages than the one before. Tabbed browsing, a built-in popup killer, and endless customizability are among the other goodies.

I wouldn't recommend getting rid of Internet Explorer -- Windows uses it for some purposes, and so do many HTML editors and file viewers. There are also occasional sites with non-standard coding that don't display properly except in IE. But for 99% of your browsing needs, Firefox is the only way to travel.

2. Outside of the MS bash
I'll agree here. Firefox is vastly superior to Internet Explorer.

Think what you want about Bill Gates but in terms of sheer dollars, he wanks in the top 5 philanthropists in history.

I don't like Gates (and I have more reasons than most not to like him), he's a contributor to republicans and his products are not that great (but not as bad as many like to believe), but all that aside he has given monstrous amounts of money to good charities.

Over $3.6 billion to health related charities
over $2.1 billion to education related charities

3. Take a closer look.
So Bill Gates has donated over $2.1 billion to education related charities, eh? Can you tell us EXACTLY where the money went or how it was spent?

I worked for the Seattle School District, one of the biggest recipients of Gates' "charity," and that sorry sack of shit has only continued declining under Gates' benevolent rule. The schools are filled with Windows computers, school officials are Microsoft whores and so are teachers union officials.

No, paying corrupt school officials to help promote your product - all at children's expense - is not what I call philanthropy. I call it corporate pedophilia. Bill Gates ought to be familiar with that term. I believe he may have more than a passing acquaintance with the late Judge Gary Little, Seattle's most famous pedophile. Isn't that right, William?

4. Firefox or Safari
I've been going back and forth trying to decide which I like better on my Mac. They both have their good points and both are MUCH faster than IE.
