Help, Please. Florida Election Law change in recount rules question
This article, posted on 02/06/04, besides being an excellent read, mentions the following:

>snip<
In an interview, Kast said public notice of proposed changes to the recount rules -- including the elimination of review of ballot images -- will be posted next Friday, with 21 days for public comment.
>snip<

This tidbit was buried way down in the article, and I haven't seen it brought up anywhere else. Could it be we're about to be completely blindsided?

Here's where I need your help:

Does anyone know where this 'public notice of proposed changes' would be posted? or what form of 'public comment' is acceptable? Who would I contact to find out where to find this if it isn't posted on the internet? My county Supervisor of Elections maybe?

This thread http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=102&topic_id=362256 , (thank you JudiLynn) in LBN jogged reading the article earlier this week, reminding me there was something that needed checked into today.

Help?

1. Thanks for the Heads Up soup! Keep this one Kicked!
I have posted this at blackboxvoting.org, and notified the folks at verifiedvoting.org.

Anyone who has time to check on what they are trying to legislate, please post asap, and PM me if you would.

I am in the thick of battle in my own state, and applogize that I cannot get to this immediately.

Keep it kicked!

2. Just got off phone with County Supervisor of Elections office.
After being transferred through departments, the woman I spoke with (at length) will pass my questions along and have someone contact me.

4. update
County Supervisor of Elections office finally called back. No info. Suggested I get hold of the Florida DOE.

I've e-mailed them. No response yet.

What's going on here? If the county offices haven't been made aware of the proposed changes, who has?
