Is it possible that Clark is trying to put a stop to Rove's machine?
Today is a big news day. The AWOL story is going to skyrocket when these Guardsmen make the national news.

Rove, knowing this, ships out some MAJOR distractions, like:

Soldier accused of aiding Al Qaida (Believe me, they've known that for a while.)

Kerry slept with an intern (I believe everyone has been preparing for this.)

The problem is that Rove has decided to use Clark's comments about Kerry to reporters (see Drudge's report) as the M.O. for introducing this non-story about Kerry having a relationship while he was single with someone who worked in D.C.. I like Clark, and know enough about him to know that, if Rove did this, it would piss Clark off.

It's possible that Clark endorsed Kerry today on his own to counter the sting of Rove's machine.

This is just in my own opinion.
