HELP!! I need the top three stories that Drudge has been flat-out wrong on
I am in an argument at work about the reliability of Drudge. Help me out please. I do not need stories where he got a few insignificant details wrong. I need total blunders. Out and out fabrication and, if possible, when he has had to print a retraction. Thanks again.

1. Didn't he publish a picture after 9/11 that purported to show . . .
a fighter plane shooting an air to air missile through the World Trade Center?

2. He said Terry McAuliffe was taking multi-million dollar illegal payments
couple of years back. Anyone remember the details?

8. The Global Crossing scandal...
...said that Terry Mac made $18M on some sort of stock trade. This came up just as the Enron scandal was lapping on the WH.

Terry was never charged with anything...

10. Thanks. Couldn't remember the details.
Did Drudge have to retract? Has he ever?

3. "Sid Blumethal Is A Wife Beater"
Soon after it was revealed that one of Bush senior camapgin guys in TX was a wife beater, Drudge published the lie that Sid Blumenthal was a wife beater. It worked, too, when Bush's man escaped scrutiny because all the hate radio guys jumped on the Blumenthal story.

4. Two small issues
1) in Franken's book he proves Drudge lied about a supposed "fight" Franken was in when Franke had really just cut himself shaving. Franken proved it was a lie with the time of day he was seen by Drudge and when the supposed fight occured.

2) he added/deleted words to a Clark transcript - BIG NO, NO.

6. You are arguing with a fool.
If you have gotten into an argument about Drudge's accuracy, you are on a fool's errand. Anyone who thinks Drudge is a good source for accurate information is too stupid to be convinced by logic. And remember what your mother taught you about arguing with fools...

7. Just recently he had items up claiming that Clark had expressed
support for the war... when it was learned that a the excerpt from the transcript (before congress) was taken out of context.. and was tampered with (eg re ordered - and there may have been items that were not in the transcript at all)... eg he cited doctored transcripts as "real".

11. I can think of two off the bat
The Blumenthal wife-beating story and the "Clinton had a child with a black prostitute" bullshit. The thing about Drudge is that his reporting is rarely wrong because he rarely does any actual reporting, he just links to other peoples' stories and reports tips he's gotten from people inside the press. Like in this case: he doesn't have a story about Kerry, just a story that other people might have a story. Big whoop.

14. Indictments
Drudge claimed that both Hillary Clinton and Janet Reno would be "indicted", Senator Clinton on multiple occasions.

Smeared him day before election - said he had an illegal alien working for him. Wasn't true.
