CBS does it right - Again!
Two great news sections. One on the wounded soldiers and the disgust of a wounded soldier's mother. The other on Columbia Corp screwing their long time employees.

1. Thanks. I just may have to check out the evening news
on CBS. It became too much for me too stomach, all the fawning over Bush and flagsterbating.

I keep hearing good things about CBS.

3. Kick
:kick:

CBS is leading the way.

They did a great job on this evening's newscast. My husband and I were shocked. Every story hurt Bush: Iraq, military wounded; economy; job losses...

5. "Every story hurt Bush"
it's about time we got some honest reporting.

No, it's not the stories that hurt Bush. It's Bush who hurts Bush.

Bush is, and has been, hurting Americans, millions at a time. It's about time the evening news showed a fair representation of where his "leadership" has gotten us!

2. Saw that one.
I think that's the sort of things that's going to turn minds: hearing about how the orthopedic wards are full and doctors are exhausted because there are so many incoming casualties, how it took them so long to verify between the U.S. and Germany that her son's arm had been amputated.

9. And don't forget she was told that the Army
wouldn't give her any help to get over to Germany to see her son because he was not "near death" or "seriously wounded". Losing an arm sounds pretty serious to me.

4. Whaat? No moral defense of marriage by the fearless leader?
Whatever happened to their memo? (There is hope)

No tears?
You mean Dan didn't do his "crying" schtick?
I guess he only does that when his Pentagon script
writers call for it, as they did for CBS's foolish
Lynch propaganda piece.

6. It's unfortunate...
that CBS can also stand for conservative bullshit.

7. Yes, the jobs segment was great
Edited on Thu Jul-31-03 08:04 PM by gristy
Jobs going overseas. They aren't coming back anytime soon. Need some policy changes AND (this truth may hurt) need some expectation-level changes on the part of American workers: education/skill levels of foreign workers are going up; education/skill levels of american workers are going down. Net result is only one bad choice and one really bad choice: falling real wages or rising unemployment. This administration has chosen to let unemployment rise. That's the really bad choice, in my view.

on edit: This thread is in "Israeli/Palestinian Affairs". What the heck is that? Not even in the list of forums.
