Chimpy speaking in Harrisburg, PA
Edited on Thu Feb-12-04 11:27 AM by gauguin57
Our regional ABC affiliate actually showed a group of protesters (who were stuck right next to the pro-Bushies, yelling "Four More Years.") near the airport.

Chimpy now speaking (off the cuff, apparently ... uh-oh!) at a high school ... he's wishing happy birthday to Arlen Specter, and now is recognizing Rick Santorum ... all the attendees are giving Rick a big round of applause. And I am puking.

He says: "We're going to have a dialogue" about how these students can "take advantage of the growing economy" so they can attain the American dream, he says.

"The (economic) numbers are good," he says, "but I don't worry about numbers. I worry about people." Huh? "Here's a simple Crawford, Texas, economics lesson: When you have money in your pocket, you're going to want a good or a service. And when companies provide that good or service, a job is created." Tax cuts, tax cuts, tax cuts!

Applause, applause, applause. (puke)

He's bragging about how "we" brought "those corporate criminals to justice" for betraying the trust of shareholders.

He's recognizing one of the students for volunteering, being "a member of the army of compassion." He's telling everyone to "find somebody who hurts, and surround them with love -- at your church, synagogue or mosque."

Now he's speaking really fast, rambling along about no child left behind. About how we should see to it that AP courses are "spread throughout our society." Huh? Sounds like he's behind schedule and needs to get to his next propaganda stop.

Now he's bantering with the school officials. Everyone just seems to think he's the most charming, funny creature on earth.

And so it goes. What a bunch of B.S.

1. I'm going to avoid our local news tonight..........

I don't think I'll be able to stand it.....BTW, he wouldn't DARE speak about "No Child blah blah" in Lancaster County. It has been a dismal failure. Any child that wanted to transfer from a "failing" school, and there were some.....had no school to transfer to......no funds, no room.

Corrected "falling" to "failing", although, what's the dif?

5. they can take advantage
of the new economy by being a highly-paid consultant (who doesn't really provide services) to the School District of Lancaster. LOL (though it's really NOT funny).

(Note to those who don't live in s.central PA ... we've had a huge scandal involving a superintendent (who has resigned) who hired family members (some with criminal records) as consultants ... paying them tens of thousands for zero to very little work. The FBI is investigating!)

2. The students would have to leave the country to take advantage
of the growing economy.

Unless they already had money in their trust funds to invest in the Bush supporting companies (well, they are allowed into the Bush lovefest, they must have been well-researched!).

3. Say the truth: 'Bush reading from a teleprompter'. Dems should make it an
issue and Kerry, Edwards and Dean pledge to never use a teleprompter and start now in their campaigns. Make Bush do what he does worst, THINK.

I've been saying this for 3 years and the Dems deserve to lose if they can't figure that out. Look at home poorly Junior did in the Meet the Whore interview even when they gave him the questions in advance. Even the Repukes are saying Junior looked skittish.

I hope some high level Dem advisors finally gets this type of info. It's ashame they can't see the obvious!

4. believe it or not,
I think he's speaking without aid ... cuz he's doing his usual bunch of cliches repeated over and over, with slightly different phrasing each time.

He's actually throwing the focus to the teachers ... he's acting sort of like the infomercial host: "Now, Teacher X, tell us what you're doing with YOUR curriculum."

6. Volunteering! "army of compassion"
Somebody needs to ask him about his own experience as a volunteer. Back in the early 70's he worked at PUSH in Houston--or maybe another community center--details for that period of his life are strangely unclear.

Surely he has some heartwarming anecdotes on the joys of volunteering. Why won't he share them with us?

7. Protesters
"Our regional ABC affiliate actually showed a group of protesters (who were stuck right next to the pro-Bushies, yelling "Four More Years.") near the airport."

Are the protesters responding?

What a hoot that would be...

4 More Years
of Fear

4 More Years
of Lies

4 More Years
of Debt

4 More Years
of Death

4 More Years
of Deceit

4 More Years
of Unemployment

etc. etc.

8. success stories being used
to promote Chimpy vision.

For example: They have this young nursing student on the stage with him, telling how she's attending community college and gets all these benefits (including child care for her four-year-old). Which I'm sure have been in place since long before Chimpy was elected.

So Chimpy puts it all in perspective: "She gets a child tax credit. If the tax cuts are rescinded, she'll have to pay taxes next year." Says she's performing her biggest, best job: loving her child. Says she's got the "entrepreneurial spirit of America."

The young woman is well-spoken, seems to have a lot on the ball. And she's being used as a propaganda tool for a TOOL who hasn't done one damned thing for her. SICKENING.

oh ... Chimpy just said, "We're going to win the war on terror." 30 seconds of sustained applause and cheering. What in the hell makes them cheer? ... Iraqi citizens and U.S. soldiers are sitting ducks! Dozens killed in the past 48 hours. Winning the war on terror? B.S.!

Thank God, he's finished now. Please leave our state, Mister Chimp, "and don't let the door hit you on the way out!!!"

12. Should point out to her that she should have used that $400 to
pay back all the WIC that she used, plus probably the Earned income tax credits.

Then see what a net gain she really had under Bush.

11. this is funny
The local ABC station dudes were interviewing the "army of compassion (see above)" high school student chosen to shake hands with the Chimp on the tarmac. She was very excited about her experience, said Chimp was very nice, blah blah blah.

Then, the reporter said, "You'll be able to vote for the first time in this fall's election. Any idea who you'll vote for?"

"Not at this time," she said with a little smile.

"Whoa!!!!" said the reporter.

Kick ass, kid! Don't be a part of the propaganda machine!

13. Remeber how pissed Freeper types were
when Clinton flew to speak anywhere at any time for any reason?

But now that Chimpy is getting us to fund his constant campaign, they don't seem to give a shit anymore.

Hypocritical assholes.
