Poll question: What's your bushspeak tolerance level?
Edited on Thu Feb-12-04 04:18 AM by 0rganism
How long can you endure a televised bush speach, "press conference", or fundraiser before you have some kind of physical reaction? This could range from throwing pillows at your TV or changing the channel to hopping around your living room while screaming at the talking heads. What's your limit?

1. Gawddamn...
... why isn't there a category for zero tolerance? I can't tolerate two seconds of lies from the idiot.

2. Mea Culpa
In retrospect, I should have taken that into account. Looks like nearly everyone so far bunches up into the "under 1 minute" category, so I could have done a lot more detail in that range to get a better spread. Live and learn, I guess.

I'll try a high-res poll tomorrow night, focusing on the first 3 minutes.

8. Yes, more detail please
I start screaming or laughing hysterically in under a minute, but usually try to hang in there for the whole thing in order to hear whatever atrocities he is going to utter next.

10. Yep- more fidelity here plz!
I killed my TV because of this man.
My IQ is low enough, I can't afford to waste points listening to him.
Nukular? Please...

3. I only made it through the whole MTP thing by not looking at the screen.
I always look away. I cannot tolerate his face any more.

4. Smirk and wink
I did watch part of his little proliferation speech yesterday. Long enough to see him smirk and wink at someone in the crowd after pausing to soak in the applause. He's so cute...

6. To hear that man butchering the English language is more than I can bear.
I can't listen to him for very long. No more than a couple of minutes.

12. I got through five minutes of the SOTU address
before I broke out the liquor.

But, hey. That's five more minutes of sobriety than Bush had!

13. I'm a great fan of fantasy, so I like to listen to Bush speak.
He's recently branched out into science fiction as well with his Mars theme. Very creative stuff.

14. Other: Zero Tolerance. Just *knowing* that SOB is speaking...
Has emetic properties that lie far beyond syrup of ipecac.

I read the lowlights online later, which only induce mild gagging at that point.

18. Duyba's speaking patterns
If I can't stand anything about Dubya's speaking patterns, its his bizarre cadence when speaking sentences. He can't get a full sentence out in one breath. It's like he's the unholy offspring of George H.W. Bush and William Shatner.

21. Only the big speeches
Edited on Thu Feb-12-04 09:02 PM by knight_of_the_star
Know thy enemy. Of course, I ususally have to tape my mouth shut to hear what he is saying over me shouting at the TV about his lies and mispeaks.

ON EDIT: I can ONLY watch events that I know are happening in advance. I have to spend AT LEAST an hour preparing my mind and soul for such torture.

three remote controls in three years.... They seem to leap outa my hand if I can't get to the mute button fast enough. One went flying so fast it lodged in the dry wall... The wife wanted to leave it there... she thought it was kinda artistic.
