could you ever forgive Bush?
let's say a few years after getting his ass booted out Bush comes out and tells all. He reveals all the info of the coup of 2000, the conspirators, the involvement of Halliburton, LIHOP, everything. his exposes leads to Cheney, Rummy, Rove and all those most responsible being promptly arrested.

even in that case I don't think I could forgive him. Maybe hold him in slightly lower regard. But it's going to take a lot of repentence for what he's done.

He should be in an orange suit and in manacles and shackled with the rest of his gang.
It was bad enough Nixon was pardonned.

I tried forgiving him daily for that day's misdeeds, but that took too much energy, so now I'm going to forgive him for everything on January 21st of next year, when President Kerry begins his first full day of office.

He doesn't deserve forgiveness; that's not the point. I don't deserve to carry around the weight of this anger, rage, hatred, fear, and resentment. I will forgive him to free myself.

On edit: I wrote my reply before reading the rest of the thread. I am saddened by the power * has over my fellow DUer's. While he's in office, yeah, it's tough to forgive and let go and move on.

However, if y'all carry this pain and anger around with you when he's gone, guess who you're hurting -- YOU!! Does * really deserve to live in your head?? He's already living in all of our heads, rent-free. When he's out of office, I'm evicting him from my brain. All my energy will be positively directed in helping to heal the country.

28. I respectfully suggest otherwise.
Should we be successful in forcing him out of the White House - one way or the other - he must be held accountable for the blood on his hands.

After that we'll talk forgiveness.

If he reformed himself and became a liberal
Sure. Everyone deserves forgiveness, granted that they realize the error of their ways and change them. If he's still the idiot, jack-ass repug he is now, then no way in f'in hell.

I mean Dennis Byrd used to be a racist and now he is one of the most outspoken Democrats, so anything really is possible.

27. I won't rest until that traitor is tried for war crimes.
Should he plead a full confession, spill everything he knows and share the documentation, then decide to swallow a bottle of sleeping pills or the end of a gun...

...no, I believe he'd still not be forgiven.

34. That's God's job
Its his concern to "forgive" people with sins of that magnitude. In conclusion: how can *I* forgive him if he confessed to "LIHOP"? My husband/wife/child/friend/loved one didn't die that day. I'll leave that part of the question to those who suffered not those who witnessed.

37. It is a moot point. ~ Bush* will never admit wrong doing.
He should ask his favorite philosopher for forgiveness because not many here will give it. I personally would if he were to truely ask for it.
