why are right wingers still so obsessed with Clinton?
In early 96' liberals had all but forgotten about Bush I, nor were screaming paranoid conspiracy theories about how his mentally challenged son was going to run for president in 2000 (even though that turned out to be true.) or talking about how he was going to steal the nomination. Yet, they're still raving about Clinton and blaming him for everything from military rapists to Janet Jackson's breast, and are still obsessed with Hillary running in 2008 and are still giving their theories on how she will take the nomination now. And the fact is they'll probably still be obsessing over him after Boy George leaves office.

what exactly is the deal with right wingers and Clinton?

1. I think it's their sense of entitlement
Republicans believe that they are entitled to always win, always get their way, always feel superior to everyone else.

As Democrats, we accept the fact that sometimes we are going to win and sometimes we are going to lose. But republicans are outraged at the mere thought of ever not getting their way.

So when Clinton, a man who, while politically very centrist, embodied all the things they hate from a social and cultural point of view, kicked their ass, it created a trauma they can't get over.

2. They Never Got To See His Wee Wee In Open Court!
They all live in fear that his Wee Wee is bigger than their Wee Wees.

Pretty simple.

3. If America prospered under Bush Jr.,
Edited on Thu Feb-12-04 12:53 AM by Cat Atomic
I doubt we'd hear much about Clinton at all. Bush Jr. is literally wrecking this country and republicans desperately need something to blame it on.

They did it with Carter, too. Every mess Reagan made was somehow Carter's fault.

4. 2 main reasons...
1. Clinton represents the "hippy" faction of the baby-boomers to the wingnuts. And the left has pretty much won the culture wars, with some exceptions.

2. Clinton raised taxes on the wealthy and the economy took off. This showed "supply-side" economics as the fraud that it is. And he was reelected, and people generally liked or even loved him.

And because of Hillary too...

6. And yet Hillary was far and away ahead in the little MSNBC poll on which
First Lady in recent history had done the job the way it should have been done...
Surprised me.

5. Two terms...Bush I only got one, and Saint Ronnie should have been
revered and able to stand alone of presidents in recent history who served two terms...they just can't stand it. Yes, it's a sense of entitlement, not sure why...arrogant assholes. Having money falling off the trees in your yard is not necessarily a good qualification to be president, ya know??

7. Because they still need him to use as their villain?
You hear them use him to change the subject when it gets too close to the truth about their man Bush. They have nothing to use to defend their man, so they attack Clinton.

Statement: Bush lied about the reasons for taking us into war.
Response: Well Clinton lied about sex.

Statement: Bush went AWOL in the National Guard.
Response: Well Clinton was a draft dodger.

Statement: Bush had a plan of pre-emptive war.
Response: Well he got it from the Clinton Administration; in 1998...

They can't defend their man, all they can do is attack Clinton if they feel their man is threatened in any way.

What do they have on Hillary? I keep hearing innuendo, but no criticism that can be challenged or corrected.

8. President Clinton was a successful president.
bush* on the other hand, is a total failure.
That probably embarrasses his supporters, thusly lending itself to hating all things Clinton.

11. They head all branches of government. And the spiral to doom continues.
Huge lies and the fear they generate through a right-wing media. Is the only way they can float their rotting boat. Clinton is their opium fix. So they do not have to deal with their addiction to a war criminal like Bu$h boy and his gang of maggots.

12. The Culture War
Bill Clinton represents everything they hate.

He was anti-military (so are they, but they lie)

He dodged the draft (so did they, but they are patriotic)

He had a sexual history (so did they: Gingrich,Livingston, etc)

He has a feminist wife (they like Stepford wives)

Truly, they hate him because he was smarter than them, more clever, & he outfoxed them everytime they took him on. So they're bitter.

15. They're afraid
that Hillary will win the Presidency some day. They want to beat that drum for all of eternity, projecting their anger onto her. Bill was bad enough for them. But with Hillary they'd all stroke out.

with their latent homosexual urges. They are ashamed and strike out. My take on the male hatred anyway (have a gay male friend who espoused this view).

19. Visible sex appeal
in addition to the ***** envy, the man did look sexy. After seeing him live a few months ago, he is a terribly handsome man.

Now think about it, look at *, Cheney, Rumsfield, Rove, etc...do they look like something worth bedding down with?
