I am ABSOLUTELY FURIOUS that the awol story wasn't pursued in 2000
I mean, what the hell? Thanks to Michael Moore, we're finally examining whether this man is even fit for public office.

Meanwhile Andrew Sullivan is picking on Bush because of the TV interview, asking questions like "What is he talking about?" and "Is he crazy?" (That's right, Andrew...he's a stupid figurehead. I guess you're the last to know.)

When I think about how all this stuff was in plain sight in 2000...back when my city had a World Trade Center and my friends all had jobs...it makes me want to cry.

2. I liked the line someone used earlier
Bush was AWOL in '72, the press was AWOL in 2000.

4. Yeah, me too, but to be fair
No one back then knew how completely Bush would use the military for political purposes. I mean, no national leader outside of tin-pot dictatorships puts on military garb and pulls stunts like landing on the carrier. So if he's going to do stuff like that, then I think the press now has a more valid reason for looking at his past Vietnam-era history. If Bush is going to pretend that he's a soldier too, then it's perfectly fair to see exactly what kind of a "soldier" he was.

5. I am too.
This was all available in '00. And most of the press just sat on it. Any mention of chimpy's AWOL by an individual was quickly brushed off and discounted. So the Commander-In-Chief of the Armed Forces of this country goes AWOL, and for over 3 years this didn't matter. The Fourth Estate has a load of explaining to do.

6. Just like the story of his father
Strafing the boat with the unarmed sailors in it. It was in plain sight (Harper's published the memo), but the U.S. press knows which side it's bread is buttered on and (for the most part), never even acknowledged it.

11. You mean there is something to those stories that Bush Sr.'s war
record is suspicious? I never heard much about it except rumors, but I respect "Harper's" as a source. What did they print?

10. I don't understand why either--
I wonder if the Bush gang actually did threaten people and their families with violence if they dared bring up anything that would show Bush for the slime that he is. Perhaps they have someting on a lot of these people with which to blackmail them Scott Ritter is an example

We know the history of the Bush family and the almost pathological obsssession with "revenge" that permeates wherever they hang their hats--I assume those sycophants around him don't stay long unless they share that cheap, little adolescent propensity. I think the whole kit and kaboodle are all sick puppies.
