I heard him say this on the Meet the Press program. I can't believe he was admitting to a coverup right there on national TV broadcast. Maybe he was trying to convey the impression that this was a routine disposal of obsolete records? "Scrubbed" is a deliberate act of some kind. It does not mean "lost". (I do agree with your post.)

4. Joe Allbaugh is, I believe, one of the Hatfield sources on the cocaine

story which was fed with false details for "Fortunate Son" and caused the credibility to crash.

Hatfield - before he was suicided - claimed his little girl and wife and he had recieved death threats from one of his sources close to Bush (right after he published the Osama attack with planes story two months before 9-11 -- he died around July 20, 2001).

His sources included, as I recollect, Allbaugh and Rove and one other.

6. Hm, it's interesting that this story is getting legs now

isn't it? Well, I have to say, if I were Karl Rove (pregnant pause and *shudder*), I would want it all to come tumbling out now. Not only will it justify any parallel smears on Dem primary candidates, but it will be old news by St. Patrick's Day. If they spun/handled the "Bush Knew" scandal of May 2002, this is small potatoes, I fear.

I'd love to believe otherwise, but I just don't trust the media whores to do their jobs. If they did even an iota of their jobs, this would have come out years ago, along with several thousand other things.
