Dick Morris, unlike those patriotic Republicans of old who were willing to put aside their partisan differences to work for the good of the USA, seems to feel that he became a Republican "untouchable" because he worked for the Big Dog. Perhaps he thinks he can storm right wing-nut heaven by slamming Democrats and progressives every chance he gets.

and all of a sudden showed up as a Clinton advisor in 96. (This never made any sense to me.)

Some republicans at the time claimed Clinton used him to steal all the republican talking points and thus 'steal' the 96 election.
