Has anyone seen Gore Vidal on American Masters?
Edited on Thu Jul-31-03 09:48 PM by Clete
It's on PBS. I am getting it right now, but I know the programming varies in different markets. It is really worthwhile watching and he is such a refreshing person, honest, liberal and says. things we all are thinking so articulately

1. I don't have a TV
but Gore is one of my heros and if I could I'd be watching...no another living American writer has written more on the US political landscape and the various characters that populate it. If you get a chance, read Untied States, his collection of essays from 52 to 92 ! It's well worth your time.

2. I watched it last night
It was great.

Vidal is an intellectual juggernaut and one of the best critics of the terrible road this country has been on for the last 50 years.

He was such a hottie when he was younger!

6. Great Show!
I also watched it last night - excellent! It ran again at 2:00 AM and I taped it. Vidal's LINCOLN was a great book and put to rest all the fairy tales we were taught in school. The "American Masters" series is one of the best from PBS along with Moyers show, P.O.V. and The American Experience.

3. Up till now I have read his novels,
but in the past year I have been reading any article he writes that I can get my hands on and thanks for the heads up. I will read his collection of essays. I didn't know they were in book form.
